The forge failing you a LOT too?

It fails all the time! The fact that 75% has failed me very close to 50% or maybe more than that. There's supposed to be 1/4 chance that it fails but that clearly seems to be wrong.

The other annoying thing is that when 75% fails and I try it again, it fails again! Same for 80%! You know how unlikely failing 75% or 80% twice in a row should be?! And no, failing twice in a row is not a one-off thing that just happened to me, it has happened to me about 4 times now; 8 attempts of forging have failed this way (that does NOT include the ones that failed on their own).

No, I do not attempt forging anything under 75% but it seems that now I'll only be doing 100% until the forge is fixed. I don't even know why they changed the heat system as it just causes hassle but I wouldn't mind if it didn't fail so much.

@Title

I never fail since I always pick 100% one.

And you can't calculate luck. I think it is safe to assume that you have a bad luck.

Boy I sure hope this is a troll thread.

Do I really have to explain how chance works for you?

Say you have a bag with 3 red marbles and one blue marble, which one are you more likely to pick out of the bag? the red ones obviously. Does that mean if you stuck your hand in the bag 8 times you would pull out the blue marble each and every time? The odds of it happening are extremely slim, but that doesnt mean it couldn't happen. You've just had really bad luck.

I've tried gambling only

I've tried gambling only once, with the 20% chance. I succeeded. I knew that moment that I used up all my luck for next few months so I only forge now at 100%.

I have a hard time getting on

I have a hard time getting on board with the hate-the-new-heating-system train since it's been working exactly as expected for me, not to mention the forge prize boxes are great. So, no it's only failed me the one time I tried the 20% chance. And who can blame it for that?

@Iron-Blast - No, no troll

@Iron-Blast - No, no troll thread here...

My luck is not amazing but then again my bad-luck is not as you bad as are saying that it is. I never said that failing wasn't a possibility but when you fail more than you should be, then I think something is wrong and maybe its about time the bag was checked.

Forgive me...

But isn't there some sort of mathematical formula/process/thingamajiggy that something about luck/percentage? Like how if you flip a coin over and over, its always going to be 50% chance of heads or tail, regardless if you got 50 heads in a row?

I could be talking from my metal rear, but hey

You're talking about probablility, but the thing is that when sample size is smaller the result distribution tends to deviate much more from the predicted result. You're only going to get only CLOSE to 50/50 if you flip a coin a lot for than just fifty times, because it's pretty darn likely that you can flip only one side for all fifty trials.

I haven't used the forge since all my gear is already heated but that 75% you are talking about sounds like the korean version of 75% chance.

How is the forge about luck anyway? It gives you a percentage at the top right? Just grind for radiant fire crystals.

There's a theory going around that the player has a luck modifier which is based on a cosine wave starting from when the Knight is first created. I don't know how long the cycles last, I'm assuming 3-6 weeks for a full wavelength.

We can verify this. Let the testing begin.

Step 1: You supply me with so many lockboxs and keys.
Step 2: I open a few daily, recording the results carefully.
Step 3: Math.
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit. Mostly me, but a little bit everyone ;)

I don't think lockbox items are affected. I think it's mostly just "yes or no" events that are affected. For instance, I recall one guy who'd studied the equipment drop system, and he stated that he could predict when his next equipment drop would be using this system.

failed 4 times in a row!

failed 4 times in a row! -_-

now i have to farm even more 5* crap so i can upgrade the last 2 frickin levels!!! (and then i have to do it all over again for an other weapon)

the forge sucks! it takes for ever to fricking upgrade your stuff while i could do it in a day or 2 :s
now spending 4 days just getting it to lvl 10! (not to talk about all the heat that just flies out the window because you need to forge the fricking dung first)

It's like puzzle pirates all over again

The thing about using the forge is the success rate isn't an overall success rate, it's per forging, your chances of succeeding don't increase with each failure. It's a 70% chance every time, and apparently you've just got a bad seed going right now.

I feel for you though, I've been getting a lot of 2-3 failures in a row myself, but eh maybe I should just horde enough for 100% every time, it costs a bit more overall in fire crystals, but I guess at least it's guaranteed and you might win some things... (honestly I'm not a big fan of my weapon progression being tied to luck, but..ehh?)

Good point. It's possible the seed changes once every hour, or day, instead of every second.

Math

There is a 9% chance to fail two times in a row if the Forge says that You have 70% success chance.
There is a 6,25% chance to fail two times in a row if the Forge says that You have 75% success chance.
There is a 4% chance to fail two times in a row if the Forge says that You have 80% success chance.

This is funny. The people who are 'lucky' would never complain nor start a thread or random chat about their successfull craft :V

That's why it'll always looks like 'everyone' is failing.

That's what I was talking about with the whole flip a coin, but every time will be the same percentage as before regardless if you've failed or not.

40% ones are more successful

40% ones are more successful for me than 70% ones for me?

I've wasted so much crystals because of that on my polaris it makes me legitimately angry. And drop rates of those are gonna be decreased i s2g i'm gonna be even more angry.

I always pick the highest ones in hopes that I may skip a few levels of heat or get a forge box, + I level up anyway so win/win right?

Pointles...

I personally find the forge system pointless.
I understand that it might be to mirror what you have to do to level your sprite onto gear, but the fact that you have to farm crystals is just obnoxious.
Right now my entire 4* wolver set + snarbo shield is heat-capped at level 5-6 because I don't have any crystals, but crystals drop so infrequently that I'm wasting heat trying to get enough to level just 1 thing.
Sorry if this just seems like a rant post (it basically is) and, itself, is pointless, but just raising a concern that me and many of my friends share.

a tiny analysis

overall, the calculations show that paying for 100% is generally the best option because here's how it plays out:

- The first choice is basically a trap to make you waste crystals, I mean, realistically, that's not going to work out for you
- The second choice is a chance to WASTE, well, MORE than just paying 100% in the first place if you fail the medium option even once
- The third choice is both guaranteed, AND the chance to go up two levels is actually significant enough that you would end up saving more over the long run because each successive level costs more than the previous one

this system is designed to either:

- psychologically influence you to gamble away your money without actually getting anything
- psychologically influence you to pay full price in order to lower your inclination towards resisting paying for things at full price

basically, the old system was replaced with a more deceiving one that might ultimately consume more energy than it did initially
