I open my Spiral Knights client via steam, and I see the game is being updated. Perfectly fine. I leave the PC for an hour and the game doesn't get updated. Why? Becuase it stops at a certain number and the time keeps on increasing. I've closed and opened up several times, the same thing happens. Anyone else have this problem?

Stops at certain number.

Stops at certain number. Timer goes up instead of down. 1000+ hours till update. No internet activity from SK client during update, game does not even attempt to update.

This is what happens. On Steam client, on official standalone client, on kongregate client.

From over a year. Nothing have been done to fix this.

OOO desperately needs to invest in their servers

Yeah, it's pretty much like the download starts and is working fine for half a minute, and then their server decides it wants to go watch Titanic and completely halts the process for 3 hours, except for the infrequent occasions it gets up to go to the bathroom or get a soda or something.

This isn't even a case of the download rate decreasing as a normal result of higher traffic, this is straight up Red-Light/Green-Light action: when it goes, it goes just fine, but when it stops, it stops dead and all that happens is the minutes rack up on the timer.

It's as if their server can only handle one connection at a time, and it keeps hopping around to a different client every 2 seconds like Hot Potato. You'll get a brief taste of sunlight and watch the percentage shoot up 3% with the timer dropping by dozens of minutes per second, only to be frozen back into darkness for another half hour while the timer climbs higher than it was before.

I wish I could post the screenshots I took of this disgustingly awful performance, so OOO could maybe understand just how real this problem is. It's an absolutely horrid, mind-blowingly painful failure on OOO's part to maintain decent servers and acceptable data distribution rates. This will be the sole reason I end up quitting this game, especially if they keep patching it every other goddamn day like they have been since the update. To torture your customers like this out of cheapness and laziness is terrible business acumen, and just plain wrong.
