To everybody ranting about the new patch:

I believe it is safe to say that the server is divided into parts:

A. Those who have no idea how to play the game.
B. Those who don't understand the concept of economics.
C. The smart arses that think they can start a revolt. i.e. the people that scream 'EVERYBODY LEAVE THE GAME!' and 'DON'T BUY CE!'
D. The smart people.

I'm not trying to be self-conceited nor degrading toward other people, but let's face it: the general population of Spiral Knights players.. have no clue what they're doing.

First off, yes, Three Rings did screw up with the patch update. However, this is not even close to being a reason to spam the server and forums with these stupid posts expecting people to leave and not buy CE. It is definitely getting out of hand.

Secondly, you cannot expect Three Rings to simply revert everything back to normal, they did this patch expecting to amplify YOUR gameplay. If you really think Three Rings did this patch for their own material wealth, you are gravely mistaken.

Third, "starving" the company will do you no good. If you don't buy CE, eventually the CE supply will dry up. If it dries up, then the price of CE will skyrocket. You only benefit those who take advantage and buy CE to resell it for insane prices.

Finally, those of you who made millions of forum posts and topics on the forums, just.. stop. There is a function called the Suggestion Box, and I suggest that you start using it. The amount of irrelevant topics in the General Discussion topic about the patch is absurd. If you don't like the patch, great, there really is no need to rub it in Three Rings's face and 'revolt'. I'm pretty sure that they get the point, repeating the same comments over and over doesn't help the situation. Again as I previously stated, they cannot just make everything as it was, hours after the patch. I believe they must go through some process in which they discuss their faults in the patch, then react accordingly.

In summary: Learn to be PATIENT

Although, I do feel bad for those who truly suffered from this patch. i.e. the people whom had 'businesses' crafting and then selling premade items. You have my condolences.

You can hate this post all you want, in the end, an opinion is just an opinion.

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Telling everyone to stop is

Telling everyone to stop is just as pointless as raging about the changes. It's common for any change to upset a number of players, this change caught people unaware and completely destroyed a huge portion of the player run economy. This changes seem designed to force more players into buying CE, but the implementation was heavy handed and poorly implemented. I'm interested to see what happens next in this game.

I'm simply saying that there

I'm simply saying that there is a limit to the amount of rage you can give. Obviously Three Rings gets the point, and are probably working to revise their faults at this very moment.

In summary, you're a derp.

They did it to make more money.

There are only two types of people here now;
-Those who know they are being forced to pay to play a F2P game
and
-Those who only used mist energy and haven't gotten past Tier 1 yet

Regardless of opinions, those are the facts. You may love the new patch, you're still gonna have to pay to play. Not paying is basically the same as boycotting or quitting.

They -will- work on a way to

They -will- work on a way to change things to hopefully remedy certain issues seeing as how their feedback thread is in the hundreds now, and most of being very negative feedback, but particular at just a couple of things with the update.

The update wasn't a complete disaster, however -some- aspects of it were, but as long as they take feedback and -do something with it-, then we might hopefully see these issues being corrected, at least somewhat, some time in the near future.

Wrong. How would they benefit

@Ezzi
Wrong.

How would they benefit from preventing people from exploiting the system?

Also, there are people out there like me, that aren't being forced to play a F2P game. I've only been playing this game for 3 days, and let's just say I've profited to an extreme extent.

What sort of extreme profit you've made with your 300 and change mist energy?

Your "informative crap"

Your "informative crap" includes an opinion? I didn't know that opinions had a strong basis of information.

You said it yourself, "Regardless of opinion, those are the facts.".

Troll and rage more, you obviously have no respect for those who actually work on Spiral Knights.

Ezzi - if anyone is not

Ezzi - if anyone is not promoting a rational discussion, it would be you. :/

You just asserted your opinions as fact, with zero support or evidence. Then, you completely mis-summarized xGoldy's post, placing words in his/her mouth and changing the meaning.

There isn't a need for hostility - just take the time to read and understand what others are saying (from both sides).

'learn to be patient'

I have been patient for 3 weeks. Waiting for new content, as the current content simply doesn't cut it in my opinion. In the meantime I've been helping players get to know the game. I promised myself I wouldn't buy energy with real money until they added enough new content to make the game worth playing again. They haven't, and only made the game less worth playing by raising the costs.

I have been patient. I am no longer patient. This game has been in and out of BETAs for 5 years, it's pathetic how little has happened in those years. It's pathetic how inexperienced the developers seem to be, since they argue that this patch will improve gameplay.

So. In those 4 types of people. Where do the over 90 people fit in, in my friendslist who have ACTUALLY left the game. And where do the 80% of my guild fit in who have ACTUALLY left the game?

Seems you made a thread built on nothing but bs.

They won't get the point if no one voices their opinions. If you feel like other people have made your point, there is nothing wrong with agreeing so that they understand the magnitude of dislike for the changes. I disagree that being sheep makes you smart btw.

@SlyJohnny

Saying the CE price will go up because of increased crafting cost, is like saying CE price will go down because of the lowered price of recipes. You're pretending you have full insight in how the economy of a game works, but in reality you make yourself look foolish. There are more factors involved than anyone -including the game developers- can oversee. Balancing the economy usually takes them multiple patches.

Your entire rant is based on the assumption that CE prices will go up as a result of this patch. If the CE price goes down, you'll have ranted over nothing.

No, the main thrust of my

No, the main thrust of my rant is I'm short a ton of crowns because this patch pulled the rug out from under us without telling us. The antigua I bought to craft into a tradeable silversix is now useless. The recipes I bought and learned last night have now been reduced to a much lower price. I can no longer sell 4* items to people, which recently, have been the only ways to make profits on item: people want to buy 2* and even 3* items at less then cost.

Basically I’ve been punished for doing my best to make money *the way the game was set up*, and they’ve suddenly changed things so that now I’m short a bunch of money. Had there been ANY warning, I could have made the unbound silversix last night (or not wasted my tokens on an Antigua I don’t want), and not bought the recipes. It’s like they watched me buy an oyster farm- encouraged me to do so- and then banned the sale of oysters.

As for the rest of your post… yeah, I’m *sure* doubling the cost of CE alchemy fees, at the same time as theyforce people to craft their own gear, will push DOWN the price of CE. It’s really showcasing my ignorance to conclude anything else.

Your list should mean what to me?

I don't care where I fit in on some chart or even what Three Rings reason for making this change is. To me, this game is now nothing but a grind so I'm done.

I thought SK had potential and have some suggestions I will likely post. Still I do not have enough attachment to the game to be patient with the Devs. I am watching the forums to see what TR's response to this outcry is. If it appears that nothing will change, I can forget SK and find a different game easily enough.

I used to think the SK

I used to think the SK players were unusually mature for an MMO, but this tantrum over the patch took care of that misconception.

I used to think SK is finally

I used to think SK is finally an MMO without the immature concept of power being directly related to the amount of time you spend grinding, but this latest patch took care of that misconception.
