i should admit that i never saw the damage of the haunted haze in preview server since i just liked the idea of have the soul of your enemies go kamikaze agaisnt their allies. but now im start thinking this skill dont worth it. because every soul just do 5 damage so any other maskeraith user can confirm if the damage of the soul depends of the kind of enemy it comes from or depth?

because 5 damage for an ultimate skill... its too low. so probably im going to buy the Reset Start and choose Chaotic Haze.

But anyway i would like to read people opinion about Haunted Haze

Thanks for heads up, but I

Thanks for heads up, but I like the mask of Haunted Haze a WAY better then the one that come with Chaotic Haze, so I'll take it anyway - just for the look :-D (yea, yea, I know that sprites are about abilities not the appearance, but I can sacrifice one skill out of three for the look, can't I?).

More on the topic. Maybe those damage depend on stratum/difficulty you're playing?

... That's too bad cause haunted haze really did sound awesome by the way it was described. This isn't the first time I've heard someone say that haunted haze isn't good but I'll still wait until many people give their opinion about it and/or I see it for myself. If it's not good, I won't care much anyway since the mask that it gets when you choose haunted haze is terrible...

@Merethif - In my opinion, Maskeraith should be a spiralmon which is scary and intimidating. If it wasn't supposed to be, Rhendon probably wouldn't have described it as being a phantom. I think that the mask you get when you choose Haunted haze defeats that point as it makes Maskeraith look weird...
That is also the reason why I think that the possible final form of Maskeraith on the rights looks epic and the one on the left does not.

Nope, it's 5-7 damage everywhere. I don't get it.

If it's any consolation, the chance of infliction for Chaotic Haze is so low that it doesn't really make a difference either. Especially when you consider that a random status doesn't really help that much.

Freeze is a cool status, for example, but it's usually something you inflict with intent. Having one enemy randomly frozen just doesn't really matter much.

Like Fehzor told me, you basically just use it for the low chance of curse.

@Zeddy That is something that will most definately get fixed as the longer they take to do so, the more people will reach level 100 and choose haunted haze because it just sounds awesome and quite helpful too. However they'll then be bombarded by complaints so... I'm sure they'll try to avoid that by fixing it.

Do the ghosts actually target & follow monsters or do they set of in a straight line towards where the closest monster was when it was spawned, not turning or anything?

How big would you say the blast radius is when they hit a monster?

(Can Chaotic haze also inflict sleep?)

No sleep for chaotic haze.

It's hard to trigger haunted haze, so I haven't gotten a very comprehensive study on it's homing pattern. At the time I would describe it as "flimsy". I wouldn't call their path "a straight line" by any stretch of the imagination. I've seen it zoom through a maze of breakable blocks to explode on a ghost block and clear the maze for me, so that was pretty cool.

The blast radius is kinda eh. About the same as virulent quils and vengeful cloaks, which is to say too small to hit anything that's not directly hugging it. Which I'd be fine with, if it just dealt some amount of damage.

@Zeddy Well, Chaotic haze

@Zeddy Well, Chaotic haze seems useless then, and so does haunted haze seems at the moment. It seems that the best thing to do now is to just save up the ultimate skill choices (when I reach them) until they're all fixed. Then I'll know which to choose instead of choosing wrong then having to then buy the restart star.

@Fallen-Night

Somewhat off-topic:

@Fallen-Night. It's all about preference, taste and perception. For me Haunted Haze mask with its total lack of expression looks more spooky - it's asymmetrical, tribal, primitive, disturbing, it resembles voodoo mask or mannequin face.

On the other hand Chaotic Haze mask is generic skull, suitable for Monster High gadget and other emo/goth schoolgirls stuff that supposed to be scary or rebellious. Although a bit cheap, I'm not saying Chaotic Haze mask is totally out of place. It is finely executed skull mask. Let's say, it just doesn't float my boat.

It all comes to the question: Do you find things like skulls, spiders or bats scary? If you were making horror film would you fill it up with zombies and walking skeletons? Or rather evil clowns and murderous living dolls?

More on-topic:

Randomness of Chaotic Haze still seems less desirable then damage (however small) done by Haunted Haze. As Zeddy pointed out, statuses works mostly because they are intentional and you inflict them on purpose - I can imagine that, let's say, freeze inflicted randomly may be somewhat inconvenient, or at least non-significant.

Fortunately I'm far from the point when I will have to chose my ultimates, so by that time I hope more info will be gathered on both skills (and probably they also will be buffed/nerfed numerous times by OOO).

The Truths don't provide any Answers

Like Fehzor told me, you basically just use it for the low chance of curse.

At this point, it sounds more like the low chance to possibly inflict curse. As much as I wanted it, it doesn't seem like it's all that useful. Hopefully the Haunted Haze ghost damage is a bug, and'll get fixed soon.

Off-topic:

/r Merethif: I'd fill the movie with Zombies. skeletons AND living dolls. Clowns are pure evil anyway.
