ask away
edit: alright im done for the day.
1. Are they supposed to get a skill point every time they level up?
2. Do they ever do enough damage to be worth it?
around 245 base damage for firebolt, 121 per hit with fire barrier and im not sure about firestorm it catches stuff on fire and when you have the explosive firestorm skill its hard to catch every hit
EDIT: good question have a bowl
1) not really they get a skill point every 5 or so levels i thought all pets do.
2) considering i do max damage and have maxed charge rate for my lvl 10 glacius it makes my drakons damage look weak but the skills add on and give me a new set of tactics to use and its really helpful to people who want to take a offensive approach to their gameplay in sk
Would you he able to do damage tests with elemental and shadow and nornal damage equipped (it it isnt 23 much trouble). And how effective is hiw noe flame barrier?
ill test it out and get back to you also what? at the end of your comment.
EDIT: shadow does a really weak 58 dmg with firebolt and 24 with firebarrier and normal does 165 with firebolt and 65 with fire barrier
i have concussive firebolt and backfire barrier atm
i forgot to mention that the damage i test for you guys is on the zombies in fcs if you want me to test it on something else leave it in your comment.
Sure. I'll go get a bowl right now

- no really I mean it. ^_^ My kitty kat is still only lvl 55, deciding on maskeraith or drakon as next pet.
As another level 100 Drakon user, I'll answer some of these questions in more detail.
Firestorm is a conic AoE Ash of Agni that causes around 400 damage total to enemies it sets on fire. Frenzied Firestorm increases your ASI by a small amount and increases your damage output by around 15-20%; it's mainly useful for its ASI since stuff usually dies in the same amount of hits anyways. Explosive Firestorm does anywhere from 500 to 1000 damage, assuming an enemy is always in the area of effect, depending on where it is. Unless you're an expert with vortexes, you're only gonna get about 700 damage out of it. If you have endgame gear-which you should- it's not worth stopping to cast it since you'll usually deal more damage by continuing whatever spam you were dishing out already, unless you want to inflict Fire.
Firebolt is much more useful at max rank when you upgrade it to Meteoric Firebolt, purely for the AoE. It doesn't get any further damage boost once you're dealing about 225. I don't use it for flat damage; I use it for the fire status and to interrupt turrets.
Harnesses don't change how much damage you do, just your cooldowns and damage type.
Flame Barrier is largely useless where it counts; anything that you can safely hug to make good use of the damage it can deal is in a situation where you'd be better off saving your cooldown for something more important. However, Backfire Barrier is by far the best skill (and IMO the most fun skill in the game) you'll get with a Drakon, since its massive speed boost allows you to sneak in some hits on Menders and anything else hiding behind a wall of other enemies.
In short, if you have endgame gear, Drakon doesn't add anything to your gameplay offensively unless you have a Vortex or you like massive bursts of speed.
thank you for your comment you really know alot about drakon and i agree with you in alot of parts, for a guy who has a high lvl drakon you seemed dissapointed with it tho. i kinda wanna know why you have one.
edit: btw i also have backfire barrier on me atm and when i get the chance im getting rid of it because the speed effect only lasts for like a few sec. just to let people know.
I am disappointed because instead of adding more damage to my damage I have the same damage with different graphics.
Don't switch from Backfire Barrier. Seriously. You're giving up Drakon's biggest source of utility that can't be provided by anything else for something that doesn't help you where it counts.
mah kittykat is only lvl 9 or 10 so if you have any extra divine motes i need them so trade me if im on
i see where you are coming at draycos but i see a flaw with that idea, making yourself overpowered is a game killer. if things get too easy then spiral knights will loose alot of interest because the game is suppost to be challenging. one of the main points of the update was to encourage teamwork in the players and that is why it seems soo much more difficult. i noticed in other threads that people say the other pets dont do as much damage either. so in a way damage isnt the main focus of the update. the focus is that people need to work together and enjoy the game instead of overpowering and doing things yourself.
needs a crap ton of divine orbs for my fat cute and cuddly kitty kat. please!
i wish i could help but this isnt a giveaway. srry!
So im lvl 95 drakon, just got backfire slightly dissapointed since it lasts 1 second but il live with it.Draycos can you be more specific about frenzied firestorm because the way you but it makes it sound bad.How long does each burnt enemies boost last?is the MSI fast? if its that bad should i just get explosive firestorm?
Frenzied Firestorm gives no MSI, just damage and ASI.
For reference, let's say I deal 300 damage with a Rocket Hammer. I'd deal 350 with the buff, and i'd get what feels like a bonus ASI Medium. The boost lasts for 5 seconds, which ends up being about 8 seconds total if you're lucky and/or keep stuff in the firestorm. I really don't think it's that useful at all. The flashes that it makes when it buffs people are pretty obnoxious and I swear i've gotten people to take damage because of it. It's not that bad in smaller fights or in the Training Halls, but it does make a negative impact, so I've seen. Probably because most of the game is based on flashy telegraphs.
Explosive Firestorm is still kinda subpar, but it's better than Frenzied Firestorm because you can mutilate larger enemies, like Lichen Colonies, the Big Iron, etc. The explosions can stagger certain enemies, though that effect may not appear in larger parties.
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/83949 huh i thought they meant MSI not ASI or can someone truly clarify this? and how does it feel wasting 2000 ce on a reset star? sucks huh?
It could be worded better, but it's meant to say "attack power + attack speed".
Also, i've now wasted 4k CE. I used Explosive Firestorm first, was depressed with that, switched to Frenzied Firestorm, and now I'm even more depressed so I switched BACK. Yeah. /sigh
how much dmg does the final skill you have do, with the ultimate skills you have chosen.
