And I think this is a good thing for players to change their minds on the forge system.
Let me explain:
The heating system before was not noticeable. When players needed to heat their gear, they went in the Clockworks to heat it up. That's all. Heat drops like crowns, you get heated gear, and that's all. It's so boring. That's why OOO wanted to make the heating system more noticeable.
It's like showing off your cooking skills when you are inviting people over for a party. You decide to bake a chocolate cake for the party and nobody except you like it. You feel really crummy and everyone said, "I still think he should've made vanilla...". Now in OOO's case, they're showing off their "forge system" and nobody likes it except THEM. Everyone feels crummy and said, "I still think we should've kept the older heat system..."
IF OOO JUST MADE THE HEAT SYSTEM, THEY CAN'T THROW IT AWAY...
they CAN just add some things to it, like increasing the chances of actually forging the gear, or increasing the quantity of how much heat crystals you require.
^ This is like adding vanilla frosting to the chocolate cake.

It's a well known fact that players who complain about things will look up threads that seem to agree with them, Whereas if they were to suggest some change that is utterly, horribly thought out, they will not look at the various threads that pertain to their suggestion.
So yes, it would attract his target audience.

Be glad that THIS GAME, did not reduce yer equipment level back to the starting point upon forging failure.
Be glad that THIS GAME, did not produce third-party enchant rate increasement.
And be glad that this game is sooner or later going to be heard because ye asked for it. Ye know what are ye doing. I don't wanna sound it that serious but everytime a complaint was heard, it was heard to be tormented.
