Ok, I'm getting really annoyed by how heat and the forge works in this new update.
First of all, making us use fire crystals to level up is completely unnecessary and makes me feel like the game has gone back to its old pay-to-progress ways. Now I know you can find crystals in the clockworks, and that somewhat helps make this less of a problem, but then comes how many crystals you need to level up a piece of equipment. The minimum amount of fire crystals required to level up something is 20, and that is only to get a mere 20% chance of leveling up that certain piece of equipment. This basically means 1 crystal = 1% chance of leveling up. This means you're going to need hundreds of crystals just to level up a helm, armor, shield and two weapons once. That is beyond cruel.
Not only that, but fire crystals cost a lot of Crystal Energy to buy and otherwise only come in threes in the clockworks (and rarely do so), meaning you're forced to either spend hours trying to upgrade one piece of gear or forking out way too much money to do the same thing. I thought Spiral Knights had improved completely in this update, but I am sad to say I was wrong.
So please Three Rings, either make fire crystals cheaper, limit their use to boosting heat gain or levels, or remove the forge entirely. Thank you.
What old pay to progress method was this?
Also, you need to complain about free elevators if you're going to complain about all that as well.
