It sounds like you're okay if you accidently make a food out of two of the other ones you created. Some people have more pet food than they do some materials, 5* ones anyway. By the way, where on earth does it say, "required"? It says "request", meaning it won't be an option to select at all. That's not the case. Don't settle for keeping a bug just cause you can duct tap fix it yourself by selecting another material. That's very unprofessional. It serves no purpose but to inconvience the player who made the mistake.
And yes, it is a bug. I confirmed it by Atalanta. Thank you GMs for returning my stars and minerals.

They made an promo with free mats, but omfg - I want to keep them for new sprites, but no! Food machine wants it and I can't even send them to my alt. T_T

You can also manually select
You can also manually select another ingredient.. click on a viable ingredient on the right
- Sprite food alchemy will no longer require sprite food as an ingredient
You can still use sprite food as an ingredient, you just don't HAVE to.
