SOOOOOO much whining! Every time there is an update the forums get flooded with people complaining! I really feel like the onslaught of whining is way more annoying than ANY update that OOO could come up with! SK is a game that you play for FUN! Get over it! No matter what the update is, it is met with people saying that it "ruined the game!" and that "they're quitting" It's ridiculous! Spiral Knights is still fun!

If you are moved to quit a game because an accessory you had for years can now be bought by a player who otherwise would never have been able to obtain the item, you were probably on your way out of the door to begin with.
The veterans are not the only players. The game is not specifically for them. There are new players coming in that need some attention.
And the promo doesnt even last a week. The prices will be well on their way to unreasonable inflation in a couple months.
To put it bluntly, the only thing that has changed is the respective wait times on the part of the buyers and the sellers.
in the past, buyers had to wait ages for a chance to snag a shiny, with reasonable expectation that the prices would be gouged out of their reach.
Now, sellers have to wait for the prices to stabilize before they continue selling, with reasonable expectation that they will sell at a loss.

Why are we playing the game? To farm and grind money to invest into higher end-game stuff. Whether you are a LD end-game player, an accessories hoarding or anything, having a full blown hit to the economy is always bad and will always be.
Regardless of what people think. losing fake item means losing time invested in a game, monopoly you can always restart, go restart your SK journey... after 1800 + hours into the game, I kinda don't want to... having 2 imposto kit sets from prize boxes is too darn lucky
So what's the point of having an economy? OOO could always just give us everything, that would be the same. No instance into taking risk... just open up and be fed...

Some play for virtual gratification of their "accomplishments"
And most play to just have fun.
