Truth about the patch

What happens:

This patch serves only to force people to buy more CE or just force them to buy some.

Indeed, the model of this patch is simple.

CUT inter-playe TRADES:

Items with great benefits (4 * 5 *) are no longer marketable (except as vitasuit graviton bomb and so on ...)

Create a HUGE gap between 2 * and 3 * (pass Tier 2).
Indeed, we move from 50CE * (item 2 *) to 200 cc (item 3 *) for the craft. An item will be ssold more than 15k cr to a person who plays occasionally and do not rush .... jk

We can no longer use the sleeping port before boss, to have antiguas and sealed swords with a cost of back unbeatable.

We do not have anymore the opportunity to play for free with a long terme point of view thanks to the craft that offer us profits.

It also clamps the purchase / sale by the AH. I explain: this is more "clear" and "easy" to research. "Nuggets" half price or "clowns" who pay twice the normal price of an item are in grave danger of extinction. (I do not speak about custody of objects and rights sales (10% of value sold ...))

I precise AH will level the price down. It's an economic principle. When sellers are grouped into a single sales point. All vendors will be in a price war, and will lower their prices, lowering their benefits..

Finally, the basil ports patch will greatly reduce the recipe trade revenues.

....

I'm not talking about exorbitant prices we will have to pay for stuffs 3 4 5 stars. So we can hardly earn crowns and play at the same time (see arguments above)

Matches:

Hard to earn CE and cr
Credit card in the pocket, it will be the servers' kings.

(sorry for my english. long time not practicing)

Market Inflation

People who have bigger wallets will explode/inflate the market for sure on high end gear or mats.....thats what happens when you have exchange with Real world money for virtual money.

Only way probably, off the top of my head, to stop the costs on AH rising so high is to implement more CR sinks......but suppose the need for Energy to craft is doing that already too.

Ironically, this stops the

Ironically, this stops the big mass buyers of ce from buying big masses of ce, since they want to buy equipment from other players.

And now they can't.

Spend here or spend there.

So instead of buying equipment from you, they'll buy 3* gear, materials, and recipes from the auction house and *gasp* play through the dungeons 5-10 times to level up their stuff so they can craft it higher. There is plenty to spend CE and crowns on.

If someone really wanted the Vog Cub uniform without playing at all, that seems strange. The purpose of the gear is to help you play, so these "big mass buyers" shouldn't be turned off by actually having to play. I think that keeping gear bound when it's leveled up is perhaps the best change in this whole release for that reason.

Agreed, it seems like they

Agreed, it seems like they are trying to stop the people who buy a large chunk of ce once and then quit later, and are trying to promote everyone buying a medium size chunk on a regular basis.

The problem is, these players who bought a large chunk are looking for instant gratification, these same players are not going to buy a smaller chunk more frequently to craft it themselves they are just going to look for another game.

As for the players who were already buying small chunks occasionally, they feel screwed over by being forced to purchase ce more frequently to continue upgrading items. Combined with the fact that we can no longer sell crafted items for a large ce profit there are no options to play the game except to buy ce on a regular basis.

If they left the 5 star selling in, they would still get chunks of cash from impatient players. They could have left the crafting cost the same, and instead implemented a system like the elevator pass that people have recommended. That is like a 5 or 10 dollar fee that makes all elevator energy costs free, but one would still need ce for rezzing, gates, and crafting.

This would make it seem more optional again, instead of mandatory.

re: icee Some people play to

re: icee

Some people play to upgrade, like me. I now am being forced to spend more ce to upgrade which turns me off. Some people play to HAVE the best gear, not to earn it. these people are no longer able to do so and will not be buying energy. Some people play to work the trade system and make money, these people can no longer sell lucrative items and are quitting.

I fail to see how this is good for anyone at all, except for three rings of course, assuming enough people actually stay to make this worthwhile for them

I'm new, but I can see right

I'm new, but I can see right away what the change was for. One it Motivate play to level the items, which requires more CE for the elevators and other related activities. Requiring leveling, means the item is bound, which means they have to buy the recipe to do it themselves. This means that they have to maintain their playtime, which keeps them around to spend CE before hitting an Equipment Cap. People who max out gear are going to quickly lose their motivation since that is the motivator in this. Gear up, dungeon dive, gear up, dungeon dive, until you hit the bottom and also have satisfactorily geared up. Likely a player will leave around that time unless they have a great community behind them to keep them interested.

Now the other problem you have with crafters not being able to do so...
The problem with high end crafting being available as was previously the case, is that people who succeed at it acquire large sum of credits and CE. This skews the economy in a dramatic fashion and I'll explain how. What happens is the upper tiers being able to pay exorbitant prices for CE via credits, will push the economy sideways at some point. This problem would certainly resolve itself over the long term as nobody would pay for such high cost CE, but the damage would be severe and permanent to the economy in the long run, because players would certainly leave the game in a mass exodus.

How exactly would a player

How exactly would a player end up using more CE if they made it themselves? Honestly? The only thing this patch did was remove the big CE buyers from the economy, which actually SCREWS you guys because fewer people are buying CE.

If people wanted to make their equipment, they would have already. If they didn't want to make their equipment, and now find that the game is forcing them to grind levels slowly to spend CE instead of quickly spending CE, then they play another game.

Why don't you guys that are

Why don't you guys that are freaking out keep it in one thread? We get the point, you're butthurt and want your thoughts to be heard, but it's starting to get extremely disruptive to continuously make the same basic thread over and over and over again. Since you all want to make suggestions as if you know exactly whats going on with the game and what will "fix" it, why don't you do it in the proper forum (the suggestion forum) instead of clogging up general.

@bluestarfish

I completely agree, the people who are complaining about the patches need to keep it together in single threads. However the people complaining about the people complaining about the patches need to do the same thing. Lead by example, chop chop.

So do the people complaining about the people complaining about the people complaining!

The pot calls the kettle black!

(Does this make me someone complaining about the people complaining about the people complaining about the people complaining?)
