If you die during a boss battle, you get no tokens.
On a gate, I did entire rom battle with some other like 2* guys.
I died in the end, they wouldn't revive me, and they all got 3 tokens, while I, THE GUY WHO ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING, didn't get crap.

If you die before collecting the token but someone else immediatly does it, you'll get it as usual.
maybe next time you'll just revive yourself rather than cry for an hour about getting a revive from someone else.
BTW, bowser killed me and I couldn't revive nor get any tokens. I was sent back to world 1 :(

It's selfish to ask someone to revive you when you get a free revive per room, even if you -did- do the bulk of the "work"

Why were you begging 2* players to revive you? They don't have much sparks of lives and I assume most 4* players have a decent amount of sparks. I love to hoard sparks, but that doesn't mean I don't revive myself ans beg others to rev me.
