Hello everyone. I'm planning on writing a Spiral Knights fic, which is going to be mostly about gremlins (the Ironclaws) and their current situation. I want to hear some of your guys headcanons so the fic can be a little more interesting. I'm merely looking for new ideas, so I got some questions for you to answer:

Question 1.) It's speculated that the gremlins get their orders from the core itself (besides king tinkinzar) but nobody knows, because "the gremlin language is completely indecipherable to any other intelligent race." -The Spiral Knights wiki.
Do you think that the knights can't understand the gremlin language at all? How do the gremlins talk to the knights? (Like when the knights fight Schemer Razwog in mission 1-4 etc.) Do the knights learn gremlin and vice versa?

Question 2.) Do you think there's some sort a hierarchy among the gremlin clans beside military ranks? Maybe the Ironclaws look down on the Tenderfoots but look up to the darkfangs?

Question 3.) How do you think the gremlin troops are trained? I saw a drawing once where the menders went to Moorcraft Manor, so they could learn healing spells and I liked the idea. Do you think the others learn in a similar way?

Question 4.) How corrupted is the gremlin colony? Example: "There seems to be much mutual violence in the Crimson order, since, as Seerus makes it seem, they send assasins to each other, and the Warmaster himself has created the Dark Retribution to defend himself against other members." -The Spiral Knights wiki.

That's all the questions for now, but there could be more in the future.

Happy headcanon making.

Demo Gremlins are terrible

-Well from Schemer Razwog you can obviously understand him. And the Demo Gremlins shout "catch" when throwing bombs at your face. Now disregarding the Demos, I would assume that Razwog built some sort of translation device. He probably hacked into something at the rescue camp to learn about the bipedal armored creatures. After the translation device was built he then sent the blueprint for it to the Gremlin clans. And as for the knights learning how the Gremlins speak, they probably have built in auto-translation software.

-There probably is a hierarchy. There are three clans, so it's a high possibility.

-To be honest, I think the entire clockworks is just one big place to train troops. Of course there's the thought of virtual training rooms, but the clockworks are filled with creatures probably brought to be used as training pieces. Cradle was probably a Gremlin made construct. To serve as a barracks and and training hall. And the Strangers could quite possibly be mutated Gremlins. A new soldier gone wrong. Creating a taller, less war-like variant of the Gremlins we know.

-Why would a Gremlin colony be corrupted when you've got bipedal armored creatures making their way down to the core? They need to band together if they want to stop the knights from discovering anything else.
