Hello, fellow Knights! I'm an old player returning after a long period of time. I started playing back when Steam added Spiral Knights to their arsenal.

So, since it has been a while... I have a few questions for everyone.

Now, I've noticed there's a lot more customization for new characters. This begs me to ask, is there any way to re-customize your old knights? I'd rather not delete and remake my main knight because I'd progressed so far in gear before.

Secondly! Typically, it was a good idea to go for Vog stuff. Is that still a good idea now-a-days or has the endgame stuff diversified or changed?

Thanks, guys.

The Truths don't provide any Answers

I haven't been around that long, but I should be able to answer these questions.

First question: Nope. Proto armour is still unchangable.

Second: Chaos has been buffed to give CTR and Damage Med per piece, otherwise ask someone who's been here longer than I have. That's the only real difference, especially if you know how to dodge.

1.) No, there is not currently a way to go back and redo your proto gear (many asked when the new bits of proto were released, to no avail). However, the new pieces--flak jacket, etc.--are all available as recolored promo items if that helps. Hallow will come around again with the Dark Harvest fest in October, Frosty with Winterfest in December.

2.) Vog is still pretty standard, but it would help to know when you stopped playing--were you around, for example, when Shadow Lairs were released?

I think before, Narfle. It's just been so long.

And I'm not really concerned with the proto-gear. More interested in changing eyes, more than anything.

The three other types of starter eyes can be bought from Vatel in the Bazaar for 50k. For the rest you'll need to check auctions and trade chat. You can find a list of the various eye styles here.

I believe you may also change your color if you want for a small fee.

New things since you left:

Forge - After each level you heat up an item you must bring up the forge menu (default bound to 'U' or look in the bottom right) and use fire crystals (that you find from boxes) to level up your item to the next level, to continue gaining heat.

Orbs of Alchemy - Energy is removed from crafting, however, you must find different level orbs of alchemy to craft, usually takes 3 orbs for one craft. These are only found in treasure boxes as well.

And Sprites is really the next big one, you're gonna wanna do the missions to get your sprite and start leveling him up! You can find a lot of info on sprites around here and around the wiki.

About your armor question, armor practically has not changed since release. Wolver is still a great end-game line, so you'll survive with vog. There are some changes with shields but mostly still the same. You may look into diversifying your armor if you can.

Welcome back! Cheers!
