If you think about it (and after running some tests myself), you can do any run faster on Advanced than on Elite, which is the way it should be. The thing is, though, is that you complete Advanced so much faster that over time you get more money from multiple Advanced runs due to the amount of time you save while doing it. And adding on to that, the drop rate of rarities is increased on Elite, sure, but with the time you save from doing an Advanced run you therefore get to open more boxes giving you more chances to find such things.

I've thought this myself. I get around 35% more loot on elite, but I estimate it takes around 50% longer to finish the levels. Except for a few rare situations, elite isn't harder, it just takes longer. I would say that for boss levels, advanced has (more of an) edge, as you're also getting boss tokens faster, which equates to some good money, too.

Elite is without a question the best for loot. This is because it's entirely possible to overkill enemies in no time there just as much as it is on lower difficulties. Make use of OP gear and sprite abilities.

A Vortex can speed things up quite a bit.
It all depends on the players, the maps, the enemies, and so forth. If you're grinding a mission, it depends on the your loadout, or in a party, your whole team's.
While Elite should pay somewhat better rewards, I don't find much of a different between the two difficulties in terms of the time it takes to complete a level. I think it's a bigger question of not whats in the prize boxes, but rather the drop rates for enemies.
