I was just curious if it was more effective to heat all your items to level 10 then craft them into an upgrade? Finding so many crystals is time consuming, but not really hard. However if it doesn't matter to level to 10, I would upgrade faster :P. Please inform me.

Seeing how painful heating is nowa days it should. Do you hear me OOO? Small chance increase!
If you happen to have extra crystals, you might end up with a forge prize box. Otherwise, ignore it.

Some of the information on these pages hasn't been updated since release 2013-07-30, but there is no reason to suspect that this rule of the game has changed.
I personally don't recommend heating anything until 3* and up where you're required to heat stuff up for crafting (except 5*, they deal extra damage.)
Unless you're trying to farm forge prize boxes, or you AREN'T going to upgrade it (say for t1/t2 ld) it's a massive waste.
It's a waste of fire crystals to heat things up to lvl 10 before upgrading unless it's a 4* item to 5*.
I don't think so.
But I've never seen anyone do research on it. So I don't really know if it increases the chance of a UV.
If you don't care about UVs it shouldn't matter though-- I don't know what other benefit there could be to leveling gear before crafting it up a level.
