I'm curious what happens when damaging monsters who are weak to one portion of the weapons' damage but resistant to the other.

Let's say silversix vs a wolver, for example's sake.

The wolver is weak to the piercing aspect of the weapon while at the same time resistant to the elemental damage.

Would the weakness/strength cancel each other out resulting in normal damage? Would the resistance trump the weakness? Or vice versa?

I was considering pursuing the antigua line but would like to find this out beforehand, thanks :)

For arguments sake, Wolver

For arguments sake, Wolver resists 50% of elemental damage, and takes 150% damage from piercing.
So if it was split damage, 10 being elemental, and 10 being piercing. The Wolver takes 5 elemental damage, and 15 piercing damage for a total of 20 damage.

That's how it works.

The damage reduction

The damage reduction overshadows the damage bonus. Damage reduction is ~80%, damage bonus is ~20-30%. You'd need a bonus of 80% to break even (assuming damage type is split half-half).
