Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.4Ghz
Ram: 12288MB RAM
Operating System: Windows 8 64-bit (6.2, build 9200)
Chip: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
Chip Memory: Approx. 1792 MB

I'm currently having a few problems with textures and crashing in spiral knights.

The glitched textures are some that start appearing as short as 45 minutes into playing the game. these include weird texture replacements and mist bomb mist looking like blocks/square pictures.

http://imageshack.com/i/j5e55vj -This links to a picture of a glitched player texture where his armour is now a shade of black. There is also weird portrait pictures for both the player and the battle sprite.

This has started appending since I got a new laptop so I think its the computer hardware that is causing the problems but just in case I followed the steps to try and get rid of the problems "Technical Problems? Read this first!"- http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/48

I had uninstalled spiral knights then I allowed java and javaw through my windows fire wall, then re installed spiral knights. It had not worked but ever since I had done this spiral knights has started crashing a lot more frequently.

-Seperate Problem, Whenever spiral knights has crashed, my java/Spiral knights window had always become unresponsive once I had started spiral knights back up again. This was when I was playing the final dept to GitM and the party has became restricted so no one could join for the final battle/loot.

Before seeing the post about technical problems, whenever I got the bugged textures then went through steam to view the integrity of the game cache, there was always some missing, which made me think that it was the firewall, keeping these files out.

I would love to get any help with this because having to leave in the middle of the game to have REGULAR textures is a real hassle. Crashing in the middle of a level is a pain. I have sent a request for help on the Request support on the wiki but I have not gotten a email response yet. Hopefully this can get resolved and I can enjoy spiral knights how it was meant to be played.

Thanks in advance for any help. Krilixtwo

Try looking in your Spiral Knights folder for a file called "projectx.log" after this happens and paste its contents here. There's all sorts of fun goodies in there for the devs to look through. Also try a /bug when possible.

Greetings,

Unfortunately using the Verify Game Cache option on Steam can sometimes cause more problems than it solves with Spiral Knights. This is because Spiral Knights frequently updates outside of Steam, so the Steam server used to verify the game may not have the most up to date version. This can result in the game effectively un-patching itself and creating various errors. Please try the following to guarantee a clean install is on your computer, you will not lose any in-game progress by doing this.

  1. Right-click Spiral Knights in the Steam Library and choose the "Delete Local Content" option to remove the game.
  2. Navigate to your Steam Spiral Knights folder (default C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\spiral knights) and delete any remaining files or folders.
  3. Go to Spiral Knights in the Steam Store and install the game again normally. The game will automatically patch to the current version when launched.
