Can we all agree that trinket and weapon slot upgrades have become extremely overpriced with the new "mistless" system?
150CE for a trinket slot upgrade? Seems rather absurd to me. Honestly I've always rather loathed the upgrade slot system, but this definitely made it worse.
I'm not sure whether they're overpriced. Before the update happened, I mass-bought these things using as much mist as possible. So I haven't had to feel the hurt yet.
In any event, if you feel that they are overpriced, then don't buy them. If everybody stops buying them, then Three Rings will notice.
If you buy 20kCE for $50 that comes out to $0.0025/CE which means a 150CE trinket slot upgrade costs $0.375 which isn't absurd. But in practice it has been bumped from 50CE which is $0.125.
Absolutely speaking, it's cheap. But relatively speaking, it's 3x the cost.
Except that without mist, you can play more and thus get more money to afford them at full price.
Might be bad for some people, but helps others. Depends on your dependency on real $$$. There's a market that trades crowns for energy, you know.
But, you must keep in mind that it lasts for a month, and you need two for maximum epicness. That is 75 cents per month which is...not that bad.
I hope at some point OOO will release perma weapon/trinket slot upgrade i wouldn't mind paying 5k+ in energy per upgrade just for the convienience.
Why worry about slots expiring when you could just play as much as you want? xP

(Using your 5kE as Trinket Slot price, and the '+' as Weapon Slot having same relative cost; 8333E. That twice would be 26667E. Divided by 800E for 2 Slots of each type a 30 days = 1000 days. >2 2/3 years convenience right now.)
Wait so are Fire crystals are bringing in less money than slots now?
That seems like one of the reasons we gave for forge has died
Though I agree it's a good way to delay progress rather than skip to endgame.
EDIT: @Mickmane I don't know, feels like there's an incentive to simply buy it once and for all than buy so many, one after another, end up with 50+ usables and using them one after another till you end up with 4 active slots.
...Considering we get trinkets as rewards from missions why can't we just get like, even one perma trinket slot for reaching Vanguard or 45k prestige or something? Or are those just supposed to be vendored for money? What was OOO thinking?
@mickmane If the game for some reason were to end prematurely then that would be wasted money. I would rather pay a flat fee and then forget about the whole process of buying these upgrade slots.
