I just read a thread where this guy was asking about shield statuses, but I can't seem to find it now. In said thread Bopp said something about shield status protections only having an effect on the shield's health. This being said, are fire resists on shields pointless because according to the Shieldbearer Guide on the wiki I was told to read, fire damage doesn't actually hurt shield health??

If your shield has fire resist and a fire zombie is trying to burn you with his breath, the shield will resist more time than if said zombie had freeze or shock breath.
All statused attacks deal "status damage" to shields.

Bopp
as I said in the other thread
As I said in the other thread, all of this information is explained on the wiki pages "Shield" and "Shieldbearer's Guide". The wiki is your friend.

Oh yeah if the wiki is my friend then why can't I edit it with my steam account? Huh Bopp? Can't answer that with your wiki can you?

Shields cannot be status'd, so to speak. They won't suffer periodic fire or shock damage, and can't be frozen. This does mean that when a status is supposed to be applied, it deals damage instead. This damage is reduced by the status resist on the shield.
