Gee, it sure is great that the Shining Fire Crystal Recipe is awarded at Rank 9 instead of Rank 8. It's not like I need those crystals to get the 5* gear needed to complete the last Hall of Heroes mission and actually get to Rank 9 to begin with. It's nice that I have all these Radiant Fire Crystals that are practically useless to me right now.
Hey, Three Rings, you know what would be a great idea? Why not put the Shining Fire Crystal Recipe AT RANK 8 WHERE IT MAKES SENSE?! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!

OMYGOD can I join your guild/be your friend/work where you do/have you as my baby Fehzor? Papaya is way too nice to me (I'm not complaining, he's really cute, but sometimes I need a little harsh treatment so I know who's boss)

It still takes 45K cr + the radiant crystals to craft all the crystals needed to do 100% each level for one 4* item.
..which is outrageous to me.
i think the point of those recipes is to turn higher level crystals into lower ones, for those people who just want to farm FSC and only get radiant crystals
and you wouldn't be earning many 5* crystals before rank 9, and even those you do earn at that time you would want to save for your 5* gear
