Can someone explain to me how it makes sense that in order to craft "weaker" Fire Crystals, you need to use "stronger" ones as mats? i.e. - In order to craft 2* crystals (Warm) you need to use 3* (Glowing) crystals.
Wouldn't it make more sense to be the other way around...? Combine lower levels crystals to make stronger ones?
do you mean make sense in game lore? or make sense logically in game design?
game design wise, the end game players can farm tier 3 for all their crystal needs. so if they wanted to craft a 3* item they don't have to go back to tier 2 and hadicap themselves in terms of heat and crowns
if it was the other way around, there would probably never be a need to combine crystals...
i have heaps of shiny crystals, but i wouldn't convert them to radiant ones because I have a lot more 4* stuff i need to heat up to turn to 5*...
and it still wouldn't solve the need for 3* crystals.
and once you are 5* it's not like you're going to farm tier 1 and 2 for crystals so you can turn them into radiant ones, when you could be in tier 3 earning them.
lore wise.. well you turn 3 crystals into 5... so i guess it would be you smashing the crystals down into smaller ones..

I agree with Ha-Yes. When i saw that crystal recipes werebeing introduce, i leapt for joy at the thought that i could finally get rid of my useless 1* and 2* crystals to help level up my 3* and 4* gear. But no. Levelling down. Honestly stupid, in my opinion. i can understand that higher level players would want to get some stuff done, but would it kill them to go to the lower tiers for a few trips? the 2* crystals are as common as sand on a beach.
why do you need to get rid of your lower level materials?
if you are that desperate to have a nice and clean inventory, just use them.
buy a X* item and heat it up to use up your crystals and then sell it
lets say it was that way. when you reach 5* and you have converted all your lower useless crystals to 5* ones
wouldn't it be ironic to have a recipe that you will no longer use taking up space in your recipe list?
for the rest of us, it's more practical to be able to split our fire crystals

As you use 3 higher ranking crystals, their power gets divided amongst 5 weaker crystals. It's that simple. Since 0* crystals are so weak, they will probably turn into some dust.
You know, since the crafting system is called "Alchemy" wouldn't it make sense to take 5 lower tier crystals, alchemizing them into 3 higher tier ones?

Probably, but who cares if it makes sense? The devs just need something that works for their system of fire crystals, and they've found a fault in that players get fire crystals they don't need.
