can you be more specific, like what does the gold one mean? what does the silver one mean? does the silver one turn gold if i complete it on elite?

Well yes, kinda obvious
bronze->normal
silver->advanced
gold->elite
Patch notes
- Completing a mission at a higher difficulty level will now immediately update the badge on the mission panel.
The difficulty level you completed the mission on.
