Elevators are free. Playing any level guarantees easy crowns.
He has to find a mission or arcade gate and a diffculty he feels comforable with. Bosses and arenas are preferable.

There have been countless threads on earning crowns. "Farm FSC" is always suggested, but there are plenty of other methods. Try searching Google (Yahoo, etc.) for something like "spiral knights forum earn crowns".
The guild Lancer Knightz has detailed data on the payouts of almost all missions. That might help, too.

Hm...
As of free elevators, easy crown should not be per floor, but how much you can earn in a certain amount of time. So if FSC takes too long for you to do, then it's not the best farming spot for you.

I also hear that snarby is good for crowns if you know the place well and go with a nice piercing weapon.
the reason it's good is because it's fast, and you can keep running it

Try Royal Jelly Palace's first level Royal Gardens on normal. Keep repeating that first level over and over. Notice how short it is. Bring shadow weapons and pierce resistant gear!

Just play it fairly and grind the RT's. DO NOT bring him to Vana while he's inferior. It will brainwash him into a lowlife (no offense). Trust me. I've seen a few people like this before.

What king?
Why do people insist on only playing playing for the money, and not to actually have fun? Grinding the same 4 levels all day long is BORING! And if FSC really pays that much more than everywhere else in the game, why hasn't OOO balanced it by now?
Incidentally, boss strata are terrible for sprite leveling and forging since there's only one arsenal chest.
You don't always have to rely on Vana, but he could always just do an Arcade run to Firestorm Citadel. Nothing's stopping him.
