the forum has always been

the forum has always been pretty stupid but while I agree with a lot of the rage, the egocentric crap about individual forum posters that mostly troll the hell out of everything thinking they matter is making me laugh the most

It's the reaction to change that makes it funny.

I still don't understand what is so bad about this patch.

Then again, I'm neither greedy nor selfish. Nor stupid.

That is because you haven't opened your eyes to the bigger picture, that this causes.

@Awesomest

What's bad is people who were making profit off of people who were lazy feel screwed. And they feel the only way they're gonna get this turned around is by making a stampede.

Personally the only thing that puzzles me about the update (besides the utter lack of communication upfront - cryptic tweets aside) is the binding of equipment. For the rest the only result of this patch that I really dislike, is it turned the forums into a whinefest. I don't like it here anymore. Hope all the ragequitters actually quit and this place becomes nice again.

The sky is falling!

Yeah, there's lots of screaming and flailing around like it's the end of the world or whatever. It's a speedbump, people will adjust, life goes on.

The thing where posters who think they're prominent members of the community make their own self-important rant-and-moan threads are pretty hilarious though, yeah.

lol. XD A joker as always.

Personally the only thing that puzzles me about the update is the binding of equipment.

I don't find that puzzling at all. The developers want people to PLAY the game, not just buy it. Money is obviously a part of it, but wouldn't you feel dissatisfied if you made an awesome game but then realised no-one was playing it it the way you intended?

ITT: Your opinion

OOO ruined this game by not making it totally free and making us work for high end equipment and not letting us change the colour of our knight.

AUCTION HOUSE? MORE LIKE... uhh... damn... Wait! I got it! PORKTION HOUSE!

YOU CAN'T EVEN SELL SUPER RARE ITEMS FOR MILLIONS OF REAL DOLLARS ON IT!
WHAT A STUPID POINTLESS UPDATE TIME TO QUIT AND COME BACK IN THREE HOURS!

I understand completely well

I understand completely well they want people to play the game they made, and I do, but see I don't want to grind the thing until my thumbs fall off for little compensation in progression.

I feel extremely sorry for the newbies coming in, I know that if I was a newbie after this patch and I hadn't known about the update, I would still think it's ridiculous.

Also their methods aren't really going to solve anything in the long term, and that's what I feel they aren't thinking about.

The questions they should be asking

1. How will this effect rarity of items/equips?
2. How will this effect BNP's?
3. How will this effect P2P's?
4. How will this effect F2P's?
5. How will this effect our profit?
6. How will this effect the game as a whole?

^These are the long term questions that need to be answered now for several months down the line, the game is still new, it's still drawing in people but eventually it will get to it's sustainable player base. They need to establish good content and remember to think of the long term down the road for that to happen. The results to this latest patch verified they weren't thinking about the long term. If they don't fix things, this patch will ruin the game.

They went about it COMPLETELY the wrong way to fix the issue about buying your way into the endgame, the very core of their game allows this. They would have to do some major redesign to fix it or they could just make mats less common and take more to craft. This unbinding shop isn't going to fix the core root they are trying to address, all it serves for right now is a promise to keep you guys at bay.

Take the blinders off people..

Rofl.

TIME TO QUIT AND COME BACK IN THREE HOURS!

It's so nice to see you again Shoebox. :P

@Awesomest: I know. I know that binding of equipment prevents that other people play the game for you. But they already shifted the bulk of the weapon cost from recipe to crafting and put a 10% sales tax on the Auction House. Bound equipment makes it look a bit double.

But oh well, I never crafted equipment to sell it to anyone. It's a pity that the only way I can help people now is by mailing recipes, but that's how it is. I'm not complaining...

No, that would be awesome

"wouldn't you feel dissatisfied if you made an awesome game but then realised no-one was playing it it the way you intended?"

No, that would be awesome. Among other things, it means that people like the game enough to break it.
