As we all know, the main resource in SK is probably Energy. Be it Mist or Crystal, we're using Energy to perform pretty much every task that makes the game playable. I've got no complain in that, but perhaps a little TOO much focus is put on Energy.

With the recent increase of Energy needed to craft equipment and all that's been going on, I can't help but wonder about the use of Crowns. No doubt, they're still being used to buy recipes from players and NPC's, as well as items and the fee for crafting..but perhaps they could be of more use?

What about making them the fee for entering dungeons? Would that not be an excellent idea? This would probably lower some prices in the market, seeing as that everyone can make more runs into the different Tiers. HOWEVER, I personally feel that it would help improve the game.

Many times, I see beginners stranded around the Arcade asking other players for Energy for them to adventure and fight monsters. The question of 'an alternative place to fight' is also very frequently asked. I have to admit that it is frustrating, when you're new to the game and have little Crowns to buy Crystal Energy, aren't old enough or perhaps not wanting to pay real money to get the CE, and having to wait for your energy to regenerate over time. It sorta puts a pause on the fun that they would be having.

Perhaps an increase of the use of crowns would be awesome. Whether or not it's to replace the entire dungeon fee system, or whether it is split in a certain way (Tier 1: 100CR, 5CE) I leave that up to the big people. What I DO know is, that this is but just one aspect of how Crowns could possible be utilised to help bring more accessibility to and about the game. More areas such as crafting and the load, pretty much speak for themselves. Maybe the price needed to craft could increase in CR and not CE?

Again, this is just my 2 cents. Or rather, 2 CR.

It would kinda ruin their

It would kinda ruin their profit margin a little bit, I have no qualms with the system (besides trading) at the moment.

Actually there are only four

Actually there are only four crown sinks in the whole game, and crafting isn't one of them. (The scrap value of crafted items is higher than the crown component of the crafting cost required to make them.)

NPC merchants, mainly meaning recipes.
Energy market fees.
Auction house fees.
Mineral boosting (theoretically about 80% of the cost can be expected to be sunk and no change in depositing patterns will be effected, so this one never comes into play).

Crowns are worthless.

EDIT: forgot one. Tier access on a gate where you haven't reached the appropriate subtown from the previous floor.

Hmmm... once PVP comes in...

Hmmm... once PVP comes in... a coliseum, pop-corn, and bookies would be good crown sinks. Pop-corn which helps us regenerate mist energy.

On seconds thought, maybe people just need more direction on how to convert crowns into CE.

Ultimately crowns and energy are virtually interchangeable. The primary difference being you buy energy in blocks of 100. But the truth of the matter is, you can generally buy energy from other players at the going rate...i.e. if energy is 5k crowns per 100, you can find someone to sell u 10 energy for 500 crowns.

So all that being said, while it would be a little more flexible/cut out having to find someone to sell u less than 100 energy at a time, it would really make no difference in the long run. Once crowns begin to operate the same as energy, it is just the energy system all over again. Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to completely invalidate or write off your initial point. It would be nice from the standpoint of being in a dungeon you'd almost always have the necessary crowns to pay the elevator cost, but ultimately it would make very little difference to the functioning of the market.

Honestly the only way i could see this being a valuable addition is if the crown cost of an elevator was always the equivalent cost of 13 or 15 energy, thus creating a crown sink vs using energy and buying energy at the end of the run. But then at this point, you'd be better off just using energy.
At least that's how i see it.
