Question about damage...

I'm sure many of you knights know the basics of damage and how damage colours correspond to how effective the damage being dealt is. etc.

So my question is, why does the damage appear as normal (blue) damage when you are dealing very high damage?

Don't get what I mean? Ok, when I use my combuster (my Combuster has a dmg bonus against constructs) in the guild training hall, the damage colours appear as they should. However, when I charge it on the construct bag, normal damage numbers appear but the damage is not that of what a normal damage sword would've dealt, it's higher...

I'm not good at explaining things... sorry. Does anyone know why this happens? I can't remember whether this also happens when I use it on the undead bag.

Thanks in advance. :O

It's a bug. It should be showing the orange numbers. Been around for a while.

I think the bug was introduced when Lost Souls and Howlitzers were introduced. See, these monsters have 0 defence, and as such all weapons will deal even higher damage than effective damage against them. Since numbers get larger and yellower the more effective they are, they would be distractingly huge when attacking those two enemies.

To counter this, I suspect damage gets reverted to displaying as blue if the effective damage is within a few % of the undefended damage.

Someone might be able to correct me here if the bug's been around longer than that.
