If we can downgrade our Fire Crystals, why not our Orbs too?

I have tons of Eternal Orbs but those elite orbs are so rare for me >_<

Even if it's just a 1 to 1 ratio, I would love this (though I think 3 to 5 like the fire crystals would be fair).

If you check the prices on depot, Eternals cost 800 while elites cost 400. The ratio is simple 1:2. Any better and it'd always be better to buy eternals and downgrade them.

I'm worried about how much this would encourage people to just farm Vanaduke over and over, thus killing the Arcade once more.

I doubt it will bring back FSC farming, seeing as how you still can't forge items there.

I don't see why we can't just straight up use higher level orbs on lower level recipes. I mean, an elite orb is pretty good at alchemizing things, an eternal orb is extremely good at alchemizing things. What stops an eternal orb from alchemizing a 4* item? OOO logic, that's what.
