Need help with ultimate skill choices for my Maskeraith

I have gathered from previous topics that Vengeful Quills and Deadly Shadow Cloak are considered the best ultimate skills for the pet. What I do not know about is the Haze.

Haunted Haze seems good for large, low-health enemy crowds.

Chaotic Haze seems more like a chance with the whole status thing.

I can't really figure out which would be better. Since Haunted Haze's special ability only activates when an enemy dies, would that mean it would be virtually useless in places like FSC?

But on the other hand, Chaotic Haze gives guarenteed status, but it might light an oiler on fire or shock a quicksilver jelly. Also, I have absolutely no idea if Chaotic Haze gives the same status to all monsters affected by it (does the status stay once the enemy is hit until the time wears off? Does the haze only apply one status per monster? Is sleep a possible status the haze can inflict?)

The description in the wiki is a bit vague, and I would really like to know which haze is better before I make my final choice.

Thanks to everyone who posts.

Haunted Haze currently deals negigible damage. I'm hoarding off stars hoping it'll get fixed, but right now it's better to gamble with chaotic.

have you read the thread directly below this one?

Have you read the thread directly below this one, as we speak, in the New Recruits forum? That would be the place to start.

I have read the forum, but forgot about it when I made the thread lol. I can see as of now the Chaotic Haze seems better, but my extra questions concerning the Chaotic Haze are still up in the air:

"Also, I have absolutely no idea if Chaotic Haze gives the same status to all monsters affected by it (does the status stay once the enemy is hit until the time wears off? Does the haze only apply one status per monster? Is sleep a possible status the haze can inflict?"

Edit: Ellaboration-
-If the Chaotic Haze inflicts fire status on a monster in a group, can another monster in said group be inflicted with a different status?
-Can statuses from the haze stack? (like stun and fire on one monster)?
-Is sleep a status that the haze can cause?

Yes, the chance is individualized per explosion per monster.
Yes, one explosion can cause stun and the next can cause fire. No, they can't cause it on the same explosion.
No, sleep is not inflicted by hexing haze, but curse is.

Thanks for the information, Zeddy.

Edit: Concerning the Vengeful Quills and the wiki description...

Ellaboration: It says that for every hit on a quilled enemy, another quill is immediately launched to another random enemy.
-Does that mean all the quills will leap to another monster if it were to struck by a blitz charge? Or will only one quill go?
-And, since the quills have a time limit before they disappear, does the time limit reset for the quill that jumps from one enemy to another? Or does the time limit affect them overall?

It would be some useful information for the sprite wiki.

If you upgraded your quills

If you upgraded your quills to vengeful, your quills become orange instead of green. These orange quills mark targets in the same manner as before. The bounced quill will be green, which affects targets the same way as the original quills.

I haven't played that much with the timers, but I feel confident saying that each quill has its own limit, the same way status works. Apply status/quill, start countdown until it's over.

It's also worth nothing that Blitz + single target + Vengeful Quill is not the most optimal combination. The quills will often leap onto the same target, even if said target has already reached their cap of 4 quills. This makes the extra rebound quills simply disappear. The optimal way to use them would be to spread your vengefuls across a crowd and deal damage across them all. Shard bombs, Ash of Agni, Voltaic Tempest and Alchemers are all very good for this.
