I've had a few run-ins with black kats that have proven either silly, or at a horrible time. Here's a time when the rare mob generator liked me, and here the generator decided that a trojan isn't hard enough on its own.

My best moment...
My best moment was when I just popped in a random party in mid run, not expecting much. Then 15 seconds later 2 kats popped up!
Worst would be when there were about 5 grimalkats, assorted kats, and several turrets in the area when a kat decided to pop in on us.

worst moment was when i i was trying to reach a black Kat i got killed twice because of annoying mobs in the way

The best and worst?
I guess the best was the last time to event rolled around: I was in the last day of the event in the final hour or so, doing one last run just for kicks. I was talking to a friend about how disappointing it was had pretty much do the event non-stop since it went live and not get a Black Kat cowl and that I wasn't gonna get enough tokens to buy the last tribe kat fetish I need to upgrade my second kat hat (already made the white one, was making the second since for my new bomber set) and just as I said to my friend "Oh well, I guess luck wasnt on my side this time, atleast 1 more black kat would be nice..." a black kat spawns and I tell my friend "Speaking of the devil. Well looks like I'll be able to upgrade!" having completely forgotten about the book, just wanting the the tokens to upgrade.
Then the book drops and I freak the vog out! And I wasnt able to upgrade my second hat, missed 5 tokens but I didnt seemed to mind much.
The worst encounter was this time around, doing Purr Terror I think: it was the prestige black kat mission with a shock fiend arena on the second floor. 1 black kat spawned on the first wave, which was nice, but on the third one another spawned... followed by 15 greavers and a bunch more stuff. Many revival sparks were used that time.

I let a Black Kat keep spawning carnavons over and over again.
It was fun. I had my Divine Set.
Once I let another Black Kat spawn a carnavon army.
I didnt have my Divine Set equiped at that time. It wasn't fun.

My best was just now, doing
My best was just now, doing the Scared to Death prestige mission. On the second level, I found THREE black kats. in one level. Of course, I was running low on health so I had to coax them away from the rest of the monsters to kill them but man was it rewarding.
...too bad I'm still 1 token away from getting a kat item.

Every time one spawns in small corridors and immediately starts spawning its henchmen from Ur (or wherever they really are from), clogging the place up good like a toilet someone just rammed a devil cat from into.
I watch it smile with glee and frolic in my blood as I have to resort to using my sparks.

I had a chance to run one
I had a chance to run one more daily Kat mission last night, but I decided to save it until today, since I saw there was still yet another mission listed for the following day too. Unfortunately I didn't remember that the event ended the 28th, so yeah...finished with fewer than 50 tokens for the whole thing.

Welp
Best encounter was probably yesterday. Had 48 pages, only needed 2 more for a Kat hat. Then the game lagged during a spawn and I was about ready to kill my last Kat.
When it died, not only did I finally get the 50 pages that I needed, I also got a Book. Probably the weirdest, luckiest coincidence ever. :D

Worst encounter was when it spawned two at the same time. Yes, that's a bad thing; an Argent Peacemaker doesn't kill those things fast enough for me D<

Best: When I found a Black Kat
Worst: When the Black Kat dropped no book
Needless to say, every single Kat I encountered dropped no book. Same goes with everyone that ran with me.
(Got 300 tokens overall, was not present for the first event.)
Last time Kat event was around I got 2 Black Kats in the arena at the end of left path, D2 of Legion of Almire.
It was a very derpy moment.
