Now that replaying Rank missions updates the difficulty icon, I've been going through them all on Elite to make everything shiny gold. (The un-replayable stuff will forever mock me, but even worse is that one Lab mission that you can replay but doesn't actually have an end goal. D:) It's also made for a good opportunity to heat up my new Ignition set and Spitfire, because lol collecting. Anyways, even on the very earliest missions that start you off at depth 1 or 2, I'm still only seeing Warm Fire Crystals (the 2-star kind) dropping from boxes. If you can't get the lower stuff all the way at the top, then where the heck do they actually drop? I mean I'm guessing that if I was on Advanced or Normal, I'd see them there, but having them drop at such a slow rate...*shudder*. Those new recipes really are useful after all.
Where can one even find Cracked/Dim Fire Crystals?

I don't think they drop anywhere. from data other players found, you only find 2*+ crystaks in the clockworks, even on d1.

Hmm, maybe that's OOO's way of getting people right on the 2* crafting train for useful weapons. Though it's kind of weird, since the 1* alchemy orbs do drop in stratum 1, as far as I know.

orbs drop normally, but you shouldn't stay 1* for long, so there is no need for those fire crystals to be in the clockworks.
Buy em from Vatel (the green general merchant guy hangin around in Bazaar i believe)
