It could be a depot item that costs around 2000-3000 energy so it can't be overused by the same person.

When used it could send a message to everyone on your friend list and guild saying 'Your friend/guild member has changed their name from [Old name here] to [New name here].' just so everyone still knows who you are.
An alternative could be your old name is displayed when a friend or guild member hovers their mouse over your name on their friend list.

This would be for people who currently dislike their knight's name or just want a change. I priced it based on the new reset star for pets which is priced at which it can't be overused. Both your knight's name and sprite ultimates are important choices and it should cost you to change so the name change should be around the same price as the reset star.

I see nothing wrong with this. OOO could profit pretty well from this addition.

When I just used to read the forums way back in 2011-2012, I always used to see his posts. I presumed he quit because he doesn't post anymore, which is strange because I actually saw him in Haven near the beginning of 2013.

But -1 to the thread. It will be very confusing for the Forums.

I'm betting a lot of the server-sided coding uses your in-game name as keys for data storage. Changing names may require something equivalent to making a new character and dumping all of your old character data into the new one.
For the user, yeah it's a nice feature, but OOO probably won't invest into it.

Why will it be confusing to the forums? People are constantly changing their name and DP on here anyway. Look, Skyguarder is Benightz, Narfascan is Cirnothebaka. I bet you didn't even notice.

"Why will it be confusing to the forums?"

Because everyone will have different names and you won't know who's everyone is. No I didn't know that Skyguarder was benightz but I did know about Narfascan/Cirnothebaka. Also these people aren't changing there names, they're making new accounts, so how are we supposed to know who's who? I only Knew about Cirno because I saw you wrote about it somewhere....

They are not making new accounts. They are simply changing what name the Forum points to.

Because everyone will have different names and you won't know who's everyone is.

You're bringing up a point that has already been discussed in the original post:

"Your friend/guild member has changed their name from [Old name here] to [New name here].' just so everyone still knows who you are."

as already we point out with larry nearly every day, if you call somebody with another name they don't change.
