Another event and again no book!!!! WTF! with the 2 events combined my total token count has reached 3015 tokens. This is BS! that many tokens and literally no way for me to get a book meanwhile some noob who hasn't played the game for more than a month walks out and 30 mins into the event gets 2 books! BS!(a bit of exaggeration i agree but still! people WERE! finding multiple books in under and hour)

This event has a lot of problems; even more than last time!
While I sympathize with your unluck, I don't like that the solution is buying the cowl for x-many tokens. Because that changes nothing about an entire boss locked off to those not in the book's .1% drop rate's good graces.
You could read this as simply: "If buying the BOOK for some high amount of tokens were implemented I'd agree with you."

@Weedalot: Last event people were stingy with Luminite and Dark Matter, so undead gates were constantly being spawned. We did get an undead gate, but it turned out to be the Dark City saga and a chance of an arena. Best hope was something like a gate or two having a clockwork at depth 19.

I don't know how that would work out. Some people seem to have better luck than others when it comes to the pages.

I honestly have no idea how you guys got so many tokens.

I ran quite a bit during this event and i only ended up with around 150 pages. However, i did find a book during the second or third day of the event.

I wonder if getting the book disqualified me from finding pages at a better rate.

At least 700 pages and no book. I feel cheated as well. It's why I gave up on the event, and ultimately on the game. I figure that RNG based events are something I will be no part of. If I wanna screw myself with an RNG then I'll give punch a visit.

the previous event i got 5 books and around 500 tokens, this time i only got 350 tokens.

the previous event was easy, since you can invite friends when you see a kat and have friends running trough clockworks, levels to find a kat and help you to gather tokens or book. this time was hard because you cant do that again with your friends, so the event was made to go "solo" rather to play as teamwork like the previous event.

the problem now its that "this kind of event" make people go solo more than before because since we have free elevators, there should be more restriction for these kind of event, and honestly i dont feel an event should make people go solo, events like this one must be a reason to work as team, then the only thing that these events do its make people to find ways to gather more tokens or chances to get a book because people want stuff quickly and easier, and so thats how we get "new methods" of farming which could lead to a ban of the account if GM found you exploiting a bug to farm those stuff. and honestly i dont feel an event should do that, and anyway even if the event were "fair" people will still find ways to abuse it.

since lately OOO wants to make players go in team, this event made the opposite what OOO was looking to do. one way to make it work as "team work event" would be like, every player in the team increase the chances to spawn a black kat, and either every chance of player of getting a book will be added to the "party chance" to drop a book but still the book will drop only for one player in the party (in random way like today) idk what are the rates to spawn a black kat and a book but OOO probably can adjust that just to make clear that doing this event in party its better than go solo. in that way people will keep a reason to find kats in party since they have more chances to spawn a cat which mean more chances to get a book. even if the whole party only increase the rate to spawn a black kat and the drop of the book keeps the same would be a good reason to play this as team in this event.

of course people will find ways to exploit this like making a group of alts, but OOO can make that certain amount of accounts can only be connected in the same computer (like 2) or make the Spiral Knights Client just to open 1 window per computer, well there ways to fix this but there would be always a way to get around those conditions so even with the most complex system to avoid alts people will find always a way.

i honestly did the event just to gather tokens to sell later as kat tribe fetishes (or kat helms i dont know what to do with the 200 tokens i got as leftovers, i can trade them for 4 kat tribe fetishes, or 3 kat helms and 1 kat tribe fetishes, but i dont know how well sells the kat helm 3 stars). and if i was lucky anoher books. (well that and the fact that idk what to do in this game...)

but thats my opinion :)

i like the idea of crafting books for a large amount of pages, or fetishes, because the player would still have to defeat margrel. I don't really like this event, mostly because of the solo orientation of it. It may be possible to do it in groups, but i prefer to run solo, because i end up going faster.

Hey, atleast you find Black Kats.

it might be interesting if they incorporated a BK danger room, just because of the lack of anything cursing you in the clockworks. the danger room would probably be fairly hard, as the BK are spawning the carnavons. the only problem is that carnavons don't drop anything, but i guess neither do zombies that are reanimated by a totem.
