So: I'm buying a BKC. It would be used for PvP mostly.
In regards to UV's:
Should I look towards reinforcing the stats the BKC has (like Shadow or Normal)
OR
Should I add some defense against piercing, to protect from Flourishes.
OR
Should I focus mainly on status reduction (shock mostly)
I'm not totally sure as to what would be more effective: emphasizing its strengths or eliminating weaknesses.
Defenses are barely noticeable at LD, just ask vog players vs WRH. Statuses uv effects are way more perceptible.
Shock is a pain in the butt no matter what. I'd recommend getting shock max if you can. Other than that, Normal is very nice because it helps against everything. What's your matching piece? If it's Piercing resistant, you'd want Elemental and if it's Elemental resistant, you'd want Piercing. Just try to roll some really cool beans UV and settle for it is my suggestion, anyway. At least if it's not Freeze or something. I've got Elemental High on mine but I don't have too much money so I settled for that.
If you get freeze high on it you can walk through shivermists without using freeze armour.
I can get either Pierce max or Shock max.
Armor would be Chaos cloak with Ele high and Shock med

Would pierce max on both items grant me any protection from FF?
I guess it'll probably grant me about 1 hit more?

Weird, you has skolver for shiv then use skolver for FF :v
I am guaranteed to encounter flourishes every game, while shiver is a rare occasion.
I'd like to be able to play most games with this loadout and only adapt when it's really needed.
You should eventually do all of those if you want a diverse and powerful helm, but I recommend aiming for status first.
On a side note though, if you are going to be uv rolling from Punch, always try triple uv rolling. Best chances of getting the best uvs, but you knew that already fey-fey :3
