Don't force people through Missions, please.

I have a new player friend who was stuck at Snarbolax stomping him into the ground, on normal, and unable to try it with better gear because, even upgrading a bound 2*, the then still bound 3* can not be worn until a certain rank. Why?
I understand that maybe new players shouldn't buy their way with $->E->Cr->Snarby Coat from AH.
But if someone makes a Wolver Coat, wears it, then someone nice gifts them a Dusker Coat recipe, they happily upgrade the Wolver Coat, they will not be able to wear that shiny new Dusker coat until they're 1 page before 3* HoH. That's just... Sad.

I don't understand why everyone has to go through Missions now, and in such a restrictive way.

Could you please add the old way of getting Tier clearance (the pre-Missions way) parallel to what it is now?
And please, if someone crafts their bound gear to a higher * level, let them be able to use it. They made it, they earned it.

My new player friend eventually caved in and let me come on the Mission. I tried to not stomp everything into the ground - that's no fun for the other player. Even then, after Snarby was disposed of, he said that was a little bit too easy. Wouldn't it have been more fun for him if he'd had a chance to do it all alone with just better gear?

And soon there will be JK. I couldn't beat the blob until I had Skolver coat (and Rock Jelly Helm). How's my new friend to get a fair chance at getting the feeling that he beat him on his own?

He isn't careless, reads wiki, is interested in what the different equipment does for him. He plays in the Arcade.

Along a paralell line, it'd be nice if people could not be invited to Missions they aren't eligible for. A restriction that way round makes a lot of sense to me. The current way does not. (I just don't get it.)

Missions are THE SAME levels you would find in the arcade, only with 1 or 2 NPCs with some dialog.

Not liking it is stupid. Is it so hard to do some predetermined levels once in a while? You use the same weapons, you kill the same monsters.

He could do things alone, on normal without inviting you and that's perfectly doable for a new player. The game isn't hard until you reach T3.

Snarb should be easy to handle with a party or even solo with that gear.
If he reads the wiki etc. he should have no problems.

I've seen my fair share of people trying to attack it without hitting the bell, please tell me he's not one of them..

Juances: He's not complaining about the missions: he's complaining about the restrictions (which he has a fair point about, I'll admit).

OP: Snarby isn't that bad, so long as the bell does it's job. As for going solo, it's an MMO: you're supposed to go in a team. I agree with your opinion about the current restrictions and your proposed restriction. However, the current system kinda makes sense in universe, if you know what I mean.

And please, if someone crafts their bound gear to a higher * level, let them be able to use it. They made it, they earned it.

Agreed.

Gravelord-Caste, thanks for reading, and the partial agreement.

As for Snarby, I remember what it was like even when I wasn't so new anymore. Bell or not, it takes some practise, and what fun is it to have to get that playing the mission 100 times because you're stuck there?
He hit the bell better than what an old friend and I get sometimes on our Laurel&Hardy trips, Snarby trolling us. :)
I remember what it's like to have to hit the bell, hit the beast with a low level weapon, and watch out to not get spiked, repeatedly... 5* gear in T1 is very different to 2* gear in T1.

MMO, well, it's not upon me to decide how others enjoy the game. I have a few friends who prefer to go solo.
Even I don't find it boring anymore since Mist got abolished. I do stuff with friends when they're around and up to it, but just as well slouch through levels alone and at my own pace, watching something while I do.
Others might do it for challenge, rather than just not having to worry about holding up party members even more than just a leisurly 'I don't rush, and you better don't run off' pace.

On top of that you have to find someone who's fun playing with. For me, for example, randoms tend to seriously spoil my enjoyment. For a team taking down Snarby fairly, he'd need friends at the same level. Going by the times he's online, he's probably somewhere in Australia...
Me helping a little was a last resort, not ideal.

Sorry, I don't know how the current system makes sense in universe. I totally don't understand the point of it at all.

I had problems too with snarby, but I did it. I did it with 2* cobalt, when wolvers were still unnerfed so the snarbolax always followed you, even when you were out of its range. I had to revive only once, too. so there is something wrong with this.

Why didn't you equip 1* stuff for yourself when you joined your friend? That way you would've been equals in terms of gear.

Also, why is you helping him so bad? If he wants to beat Snarby later on when he gets 3* gear, that is a thing he can do now. Going by your desription, he uses swords and would probably like the thorn shield anyway.

they shouldn't restrict gear you can wear to the by the rank you have, so i agree with you on that
