Actually, it's very simple. As you know, there are 4 types of damage, Normal, Elemental, Piercing, and Shadow. What you didn't know was that Spiral HQ has kept information hidden from us about a 5th type of damage called "Cake" damage. And as it turns out, chef costumes have negative cake resistance so bad that it causes Biscotti to take 1337x damage from cakes.
Biscotti's armor has negative defenses and resistances.
Or he's just too scared because what he is inside is a chicken. :P
