That pretty much sums it up, I changed the controls to gamepad, installed it and it won't work, I tried everything, restarting the client setting custom controls, but the thing still won't work, I mean, why even add the option if it isn't working D:
By the way, I run windows 8.

Try uninstalling the game and then installing it again

Or you could try maybe updating java?
