Me and Soral are testing a bunch of stuff with Fang of Vog self-infliction for fire. We're wearing dual pentas and the sprite perk for +6 health putting us at 33 pips.

Self-fire with Fang of Vog
Full Dread Skelly, Bombastic (we're using these as a baseline): 59% health remaining
Full Skolver or Snarbolax: 53%
Full Skolver and Barbarous Thorn Shield: 49%
Black Kat Cowl/Bombastic: 47%
Chaos Cowl/Bombastic: 49%
Full Heavenly Iron: 56%.

Self-cursing with Gran Faust
Full Bombastic, Dread Skelly, Vog Cub (baseline): 78%, 56%, 34%, 12%, dead
Full Skolver: 74%, 48%, 23%, dead
Full Snarbolax (Curse Max): 78%, 56%, 35%, 13%, dead
Full Skolver and Barbarous Thorn Shield: 72%, 45%, 18%, dead
Full Vog Cub and Barbarous Thorn Shield: 76%, 52%, 28%, 4%, dead
Chaos Cowl and Bombastic (for comparison): 73%, 46%, 19%, dead
Just snarbolax cap (and dread skelly): 76%, 52%, 28%, 4%, dead

At first I thought certain wolver armours had hidden stats, and that's been the myth I've been wrongly perpetuating for a while now.

Then I tried the sword damage perk on my sprite. Mystery solved. More sword damage = more sword self-damage. Bomb damage does nothing. Gun damage does nothing. Only sword damage.

Fang of Vog was known

This was known about Fang of Vog. I didn't know it about Gran Faust. What weapon were you using, to inflict that damage on yourself through curse? Or does it not matter, once you're cursed?

I don't think it matters. I tried Gran Faust itself, Proto Sword, and Dark Briar Barrage.

Changing sprite perk to sword damage after you got cursed also increases curse damage taken.

Then does the self curse

Then does the self curse damage change if you change your weapon after being cursed?

@Misten

Nope. Like I said, I tried proto sword and bombs after self-cursing and it made no difference.

Is non-sword and/or universal

*Edit: Nevermind, somebody can't read* And does that mean that Chaos set even when fully countered (weakness covered by UV/Trinkets/Perks) is still have most curse weakness of all non-event armor?

Neato.

So no matter what weapon you are using the damage you take is still based on sword damage? I should try this out myself when I'm less busy.

27 pips of health:

bonus, fire resistance: amount of ticks, health remaining after burnout (exact equipment)

+6 damage, -4 fire: 6 ticks, 12% (full chaos, sword damage perk)
+5 damage, -4 fire, 6 ticks, 15% (chaos + black kat)
+4 damage, -4 fire, 6 ticks, 17% (full chaos)

+6 damage, 0 fire: 5 ticks: 38% (snarbolax cap, heavenly iron armour, bristling buckler, sword damage perk)
+5 damage, 0 fire: 5 ticks, 40% (same as above without bristling buckler)
+4 damage, 0 fire: 5 ticks, 42% (same as above, but with bristling and without perk)
0 damage, 0 fire: 5 ticks: 50% (full bombastic)

+3 damage, +8 fire: 3 ticks, 80% (snarbolax cap, armour of the fallen with low fire, hot blooded perk, bristling buckler)
+2 damage, +8 fire: 3 ticks, 80% (same as above, no bristling buckler)
+1 damage, +8 fire: 3 ticks, 81% (volcanic demo suit, perfect mask of seerus, bristling buckler)
0 damage, +8 fire: 3 ticks, 82% (same as above, no bristling buckler)

It seems the damage bonus is multiplicative and applied after the fire resistance.

How much fire resistance does

How much fire resistance does it take to become immune to FoV fire or the fire in FSC?
(FoV is strong... What's the strength of the FSC Shadow fire?)

I'm thinking about trying LD with only FoV charge attacks. :D

Oh, I have gotten 20 points

Oh, I have gotten 20 points of fire resist before (Volc plate mail fire max + Volc salamander mask fire max). I do not believe you can be immune to FoV fire, which I believe is the same as the fire pit fire in fsc.

Shadow fire needs 14ish points to become immune. 14 will also make you immune to oiler fire (except on C42 elite).

Sadly, you cant be immune to fov. But the best possible is only taking 1.5 bars of dmg per fire tick. Which isnt that bad.

Edit: Fail, didnt finish my first point.

20points still leaves about 1.3 bars of fire dmg per tick from FoV.

Also, both 14 qbd 20 points

Also, both 14 qbd 20 points of fire result in around the same amount of dmg total.

4 second of fire, 3 ticks.

(Fully heated 5* armor with 2 pentas and a 15 vitapod:

20 points = 4-5% fire dmg per tick to health.
14 points =4-5 (5 more often) % per tick.
