Hi all, recently started playing again because it is more affordable now, but that forge thing feels a little dodgy.

If my item is in max heat, does the share of heat that the item would have normally received, gets channeled away and distributed to my other items?
Or does the excess heat just get sucked up and wasted by the item in max heat?

If you, say, take a proto

If you, say, take a proto bomb into FSC, and complete D24. Normally, it would go from lvl 1-10 right?

Well, due to the forge, your bomb will remain at level 1, and you can only level it up to 2 before needing to heat it for level 3.

Basically, its like buying a full rack of ribs, finding out you only ate 2 and were full, and threw away the rest.

As opposed to the previous system where the ribs would fill you for 10 meals, instead of 1.

I think he's asking about

I think he's asking about what happens to the other unheated items when you have an item that needs forging, do they get extra heat like when when other items you have are fully heated.

several threads

There have been several threads on this question since the 2013-07030 mega-update. Try searching Google for something like "spiral knights forums wasted heat forge". Or like this:

Thanks for replying

@voza and Halandin,

Thanks for trying to help =]
But that much i have already learned =p

@Bopp
Nice bit of googling there, seeing this thread is the top result, and the other 3 most relevant threads did not find any conclusive evidence to prove either.

And what makes you think i didnt search for this? My searched key words were "max heat" & "excess heat" but that didn't really get me anything either, either on google nor forum search.

Maxed items don't absorb heat. But don't pay attention to the animation when you hop in the elevator, it's bugged.

Just MANUALLY compare the heat of an item by taking screenshots of your inventory between levels.

trying to help

I didn't think you'd searched because most people who start threads don't. I have nothing against you personally.

I was honestly trying to help. I'm sorry that I couldn't. Good luck.

@Juances and Bopp

@Juances
I will give that a shot soon, i hope its a noticeable change and i wont have to count pixels =p

@Bopp
Next time try phrases like "if you havent, try a search on ................. And by the way, i did a search, (put link here) hope this helps"
Because written post lacks the informative aspects of spoken tone and friendly face, writing in a nicer manner would make you sound less confrontational =]

But dont worry about it. I understand that not searching is a problem in this community. I was reading the suggestions/complains sub forum, many are repost of posts from when i was playing over 1 year ago.

Thanks anyways!
