What would everyone think about Mysteryzx and me hosting a Guild Hall Competition? One that awards the Guilds with the best designed hall? How would you guys want it to be judged? What criteria? What prizes?

I'm not in a guild because they aren't really my thing (right now) although I think it would be a little bit unfair because Echo of Silence is clearly the wealthiest guilds. :/

Yup. Rich Guilds would fill up the contest and instantly kick the little ones out of it.

That is why I figure there

That is why I figure there would be divisions and diffirent classes of guilds. With upkeep being reduced however, more guilds have all the expansions so it cannot be based upon how many floors there is. Perhaps an estimated total worth of the guild hall would be in order to judge this fairly.

If you're going to host a

If you're going to host a Guild Hall competition you should be judging based on aesthetic design, not wealth in furniture. Otherwise all you'd have to do is find the guild with the most snipes in it and declare it the winner. Choking your guild hall with expensive stuff may show off your wealth, but few manage to create anything interesting in doing so.

Exactly. Wealth wouldn't be

Exactly. Wealth wouldn't be how it is judged. Wealth would create different catagories in which they were judged.

Such as all the guilds that have a net worth of 1m-2m crowns put into the hall would go in one division, where one that had less or maybe even more would fall into a different division to be judged seperately. Each division would have their own winner. This would be to create a fairness between say The Jempire and that guild that was started last week that no one has heard of.

Might wanna keep track of the date the guild was created if possible. The ones that go way back probably have multi-millions tossed into the upkeep before the update. Have the prizes be more furniture or something, as it adds to the point of having a contest showcasing the hall. Maybe a Christmas Tree? A Lamp? Blood Money for an upgrade? Somethin like that.

What I'd rather see . . .

. . . is a guild hall appreciation thread which shows us images of innovatively decorated rooms to give us ideas for making aesthetic improvements to our own guild halls. If it takes a contest to do this, so be it, but I wouldn't enter such a contest since judging would be entirely too subjective.

+1 Mawashimono's post

We could call it "The Dragon Princess' Guild Hall Appreciation Thread" and we can all cheer for my innovative name. Also, it bears mentioning that for themed guilds, IE: The Night's Watch, it helps to match the inside to the theme. For instance, it's cold and snowing inside Castle Black.
