I currently can't load the game. When it tries to load the client, I get a page saying that I'm experiencing a 503 error. AKAIK, that means the server is overloaded or down for maintenance. What's up with SK?
Edit: More details. I'm not running this with steam, just via the website, and I've tried two different browsers. It was working fine this morning and now I can't get on.

yep, the "downloading control files" at 0%, and then an error. Seems to be happening to everyone? or a lot of people today
I have windows 8.1 and I'm getting the same error. Is that the problem?
I asked some guildies and some of them can log on without a problem.
Looks like roughly 10% of the people are unable to get on?
Until OOO fixes it, looks like we happy few will just have to go sit in the corner

It's working for me now. Some of my guildies had no problem either. I'm no longer thinking it was the much needed server update... :c
I'm having the same problem right now... Haven't been on Spiral Knights in a while, and my friend told me there was a new update so I thought I'd come on, only to find this 503 error.

Downloading the game is also broken at this moment (trying to instal it on a new computer). The download times out and it asks if I'd like to go to a page for alternative installations, but that in turns throws me a 404 not found, so I"m guessing some aspects of the installer are outdated in addition to a network outage?

So before it would go to a 404, and now it's directing to nowhere....ehh? Oh well I guess I'll have to come back in a few days or something.

I've just figured out why mine's not working. I have internet explorer 11, built for Windows 8.1. SK isn't compatible.
I'm still having the problem. Also, I've tried with IE and FF and get the same problem either way.
I sent an email to the support staff at the company. We'll see how that goes. In the meantime, can anyone recommend a comparable MMO (preferably f2p) that's less buggy? Maybe I'll take a little break from SK.

Idk, but probably it linked with ip v6, few days ago i wanted to trace server but found ip v6 near the game.
It's the same here, I'm on my Steam Client and trying out the Preview Server, but it's doing the 503 Error.
