I'm going to be getting a new mouse soon (one that can set custom macros), and I would like to ask; is it against the ToS or any other rules to use macros for things such as Alchemer Switching? Thanks in advance!

Really? You ask if getting new mouse is against the ToS?

There is nothing wrong with a mouse using macros for quickswiching, I mean, they wouldn't add macros to the game if they didn't want them it would they?

On, a side note, if indeed acquire a mouse with macros or more than 3 keys it can be really useful. You can bind every key in the mouse to a different weapon or 2 guns and switch with great ease which helps a lot in lockdown, arenas or danger rooms.

I get the feeling Ellthan doesn't understand what macros are. The developers haven't "added macros to the game", macros are a third-party piece of code that automatically presses keys in a certain order at a certain speed. Things like alchemer switching can be easily performed at optimal speed by having a macro that switches to alchemer A and fires, then switches to alchemer B and fires. Having a single button that does all this for you without mistake is somewhat controversial in games.

This function isn't exclusive to mice, either. Macros can be tied to keystrokes. A closely related program to the macro is an autotyper.

Macros are agains the ToS. I asked about making a rapid fire macro some ages ago 'cause Cutters and Antiguas were hurting me due to all the clicking but I was denied the right to make one and as such, I bought a gamepad instead.

Oh well, that's awkward. I feel so stupid now.
When he said macros I speculated it was more like hotkeying.
Not like scripts in tf2. But scripts in SK would be somewhat interesting to mess with.

Binding a key/button to another doesn't really achieve anything so long as it's because you can't use the rebound key/button directly.
