A little while ago, Thinslayer asked people about their favorite weapon, and now I'm going to follow up that poll by asking you about your favorite armor, helmet, and shield. The same rules about the item being something you can actually use apply (so no shield bracket, no matter how cool it is), and you can't have costumes be your favorite, it has to be actual armor (but if its normal armor that you use as a costume, that's fine).

Armor/Helmet: Fused Demo Set. This is my go-to costume set. I love the military color scheme, and these items go well with the rest of my military gear, and they're cheap enough that I can churn out several sets to equip with different configurations of accessories.

Shield: Aegis. It's a solid, reliable shield, and it looks much cooler that the Royal Jelly Shield or BTS. Plus, you get the recipe for free! What's not to like?

That's poopy, you graveyarded

That's poopy, you graveyarded the first thread.

Now that I'm on a device with some real copy paste function...

Armour: Skolver. That shiny. And the fur thing around the shoulder.

Helmet: Not many helmets appeal to me, shadowsun I suppose.

Shield: Hard to decide between the kite shield design of the 4* skelly or the 5*. It seems like a scaled down dreadnaught styled shield that's capable,of hiding a guy behind it.

@Demonicsothe: What?

@OP:

Favorite helm is the Heavenly Iron Helm. I remember my first guild required you to have some sort of halo in order to become a Veteran. Usually this was either a Divine Veil or a Valkyrie Helm. I decided to commemorate my first SL run with a Heavenly Iron Helm, in order to get my Vet status, and it has been one of my favorite helms since.

Favorite armor is actually the Ash Tail Coat. I too use a military theme, and the Ash Tail coat looks really nice with a green-ish blue personal color. The clipping around the jaw can get a bit annoying, but I've gotten used to it. Combine the Ash Tail Coat with just about any military themed helm and it actually looks quite nice.

Favorite Shield is the ever lovely and voluptuous Swiftstrike Buckler. She's a fragile girl, but I could spend hours staring at those spellbinding curves......

@Demonicsothe

Yeah, I mistakenly created this thread twice (bloody 2001 era forum engine). It looked like I'd deleted it, and I only realized that I hadn't done so after I "recreated" this thread. Oops.

@Traevelliath: I've though about getting a Iron helm. Given that I'll never use most of the SL gear, I've been debating whether or not to go at all. So far, I think the bragging right/expertise/cool costume gear are probably worth the cost.

Shadow Lairs are worth running at least once per, for the experience alone. You don't need the gear, but it sorta is a mark of status. Snarby is the only useful SL armor set, the others are more like trophies of conquest.

Surely you just forgot about Mercurial Demo, right? 'Cause it's pretty awesome.

@Krakob: Admittedly, I did forget about Mercurial Demo, and it is alright I guess, if only for the MSI.

It as well as Heavenly Iron are at least semi-usable. Arcane Salamander would be alright for hybrids if it gave Piercing not Elemental defense, and Almirian Crusader would be at least passable if it weren't flammable. Ice Queen with Shock UV's is usable in LD, because it'll give you immunity to Shivermist Busters, Voltaic Tempests, and Staggering Storms.

Not too sure, but I definitely don't like CoA. Klipik carried one to LoA and I kept attacking him thinking he was a crusader.

I hope nobody mentioned

I hope nobody mentioned Skolver....you birdpoop lovers you

Helm: volcanic Plate Helm
-If it wasnt so stupidly out of proportion, it would look cool with at least one piece of armor. But sadly, it only looks good as a standalone piece. Those eyes...

Armor: Snarbolax Coat
-Everyone has one, but it still looks pretty cool. You can't beat black/red.

Shield: Volcanic Plate
