the game needs to download certain files...

the game apparently needs to download some files, but it is unable to, and wont even run past the first in-browser load-up... im not sure what this means, but any help is appreciated. my pc does meet the requisite spec's. the same thing happens when i try downloading the client, it makes the whole five attempts to download the files, then stops as it fails to complete them.

EDIT: the exact words displayed in the browser loader are as follows: "We were unable to download the necessary files after five attmepts. You can try running the application again, but if it fails you may need to uninstall and reinstall." uninstall/reinstall what exactly...?

Do you have enough free space

Do you have enough free space on your drive? It sounds silly, but that was the reason I got this exact same message a few days ago.

space is not a problem

i have plenty of space, but it still gives me the same error... ive been trying to get it to work since thursday now, and it hasnt worked since then...

It sounds like you are having connection problems--you should make sure that your internet connections are stable, your router or antivirus programs are not blocking the Spiral Knights websites or the Java application.
