You know who you are! For the love of god stop spamming shiv nonstop. You are useless and lazy. Additionally, I find your lack of faith in me and the rest of the party members ability to defend ourselves without Shivermist spam very offensive. Please use a real weapon and show people that you are actually worth the extra HP your spot in the group provides to enemies. With that said I have started a new personal rule to always lead parties so I can kick people spamming shiv.

Have a good day.

PS, this is not a PVP post.

Cripes almighty I'm trying to vortex mobs together and your constant shiver is ruining it!

yep

Freeze is sometimes useful and sometimes not. When someone is spamming Shivermist Buster all over the place, they are hitting the "sometimes not" category too much.

lol so this is why you

lol so this is why you ragequit our vana party xD

VT and shiver are the only 5* bombs I have unfortunately (my vortex, dbb , and nitro are only 4*), so I don't have much choice there.
Also it's not like I'm trying to offend you or anything; I'm just trying to be helpful in anyway I can. I know that shiver can be both helpful and hurtful, but if you don't like it, all you have to do is tell me and I'll stop. The last thing I want to be is a burden on the party.

If not shiver than what bomb support do you find helpful in FSC (besides vortex)?

First forum post! (disappointed that there's no merc demo forum avatar D: )

^So SB is the only bomb in

^So SB is the only bomb in the world? Try these.

-DBB
-VV
-Nitronome (use it right)
- SSS
-Non shadow shard bombs

All of these help instead of mindlessly spamming SB like most probably do. Get a vortex

The noob ice age

I honestly don't mind a shiver mist here and there. Could be actually helpful if done right. But when people just begin overusing it almost everywhere and anywhere possible it just becomes annoying. Especially those that keep dropping bombs even after everything is frozen and break the freeze from the bomb explosion.

But as I said before it could be useful if people don't overuse it. Just like the Polaris. I don't mean to derail but people who can use mainly shiver mist, Polaris, Nitronome, or any knock back weapon in a party without disrupting party members pretty much deserve medals and all the praise in the spiral knight world.

When a person joins that clearly doesn't know anything but spamming shiver, I like to counter with ash of agni.

It's quite amusing.

If you really want to mist bomb FSC, Use Voltaic Tempest.

If you want to use two, rotate Venom Veiler and Voltaic Tempest.

Three? Throw in a Swagger Storm.

Personally, I think it

Personally, I think it depends on the situation.

For instance, the other day, I was in a party where I was carrying Graviton Vortex and Voltaic Tempest. One of my party kept spamming Shivermist Buster, thereby rendering both my bombs useless. I tried to politely/discreetly ask him to use his sword, but he wouldn't take the hint, even when I pointed out that his Shivermist was rendering my bombs useless. I left the party at the end of the map.

Now, on the other hand, back when I was still a full gunner, I appreciated Shivermist (I found it great for holding Devilites while I'm charging up my blitz). Especially when there are no other bombers in the party. In that case, I'm fine with Shiver spamming. Generally speaking, you wouldn't really get stuck too much, unless the spammer was well, a noob who didn't pay attention to his party members (which really, is the main culprit here).

Since becoming a full bomber, I seldom find a reason to carry Shiver with me. It simply doesn't combo well with other bombs for me. The only time I use Shiver is when I'm doing Vana (in which case, I'm a blitz/shiver hybrid).

So, Shiver's good as a side bomb for a non-bomber. And spamming it isn't too bad if you're in a party with no other bomber, in which case, the pros generally outweigh the cons. But yeah, Shiver spammers can be annoying if they don't get the hint.

VT Spam is just as bad

Voltaic Tempest spam is just as bad as Shiv spam. The amount of damage applied by each tick of shock is abysmal (around 30? differs between mobs...) compared to triple 180-250 damage ticking Divine Avenger charges for one example.

I only consider them useful in conjunction with other weapons in certain situations. To simply spam them non stop is pointless on epic proportions.

I'd disagree with the VT

I'd disagree with the VT assessment.

First off, the VT isn't necessarily meant to cause damage. It's simply to inflict the Shock status, which has multiple benefits. Yes, the Shock damage on an individual enemy is abysmal, but what you want it for is simply to interrupt your enemies. From those Gremlin bombers to dust bunnies, VT is gonna make your life a whole lot easier.

Second off, VT can be hideously devastating when comboed with a Vortex. If you're going into a situation where you know you're going to be grossly swarmed, VT is going to make things smooth sailin'.

I used to hate compound levels, and I especially hated Dust Bunnies because of that motor revving sound they make, but since getting VT, I now look forward to their levels.

On FSC/Vana, I prefer Shivermist, but in most situations, VT is more viable. Be it whether you're using precision bombing or spamming.

Please, shock damages nearby enemies too. Specifically in FSC, it becomes a decent bomb, provided your allies ain't spreading zombies around.

30 damage per monster, wich means a single enemy can easily get 5 times that per tick. Better than shards.

FSC - Shivermist

When running with a party of friends or guildies, those I know can deal with FSC, I have no problem putting the Shiver away if they request it.

But an FSC run with randoms that might not be able to handle themselves -- that you've never run with? I best equip that Shiver for crowd control... and especially for Vanna. IF you run with randoms it's best to err on the side of caution...

As long as the bomber isn't shivering zombies into a totem AoE, if you're a Veteran player you should be able to work with it easily. As for the laziness factor, try having a room of aggro and running around with your pants down while charging -- bombing is far less lazy and easier to work with than many other techniques (*cough* Polaris *cough*).

I don't think that Shiver is detrimental in the slightest, if you use it where needed. That being said, how do you learn where Shivermist is applicable? Spam it until you figure out what works and what's just silly or ask another bomber.

Anyway, since I will not be running with you (I assume as a 2+ year Shiver user, you'd kick me), Enjoy! :D
