Two wonderful suggestions, rolled into one. Many people have been clamoring to see what the SK homeworld is like, however it is very clear that the game will continue to take place on Cradle for the life of the game. Additionally, I adore the suggestion of blind status, and wanted to frame a memorable way for it to be introduced.

Basically, the mission centers around a secret city on Cradle that appears reminiscent of a city from the SK homeworld. After dozens of knights, knights who were disgruntled or who had lost hope in the mission, abandoned their posts to live in the city, Spiral HQ classified the existence of the city to keep the rest of the knights focused on their mission. Recently, contact has been lost with the city. You, an elite knight, are tasked with leading a squad to investigate the situation with the city.

A big part of the mission deals with sight. There are a number of new blind-themed monsters, including blinding lichen and blinding polyps, blinding chromas with a new attack pattern (they spit a fast moving bolt of blinding sludge at you rather than leaving slime on the ground), and new wolvers/alpha wolvers that are invisible except when they are attacking. Additionally, traditional chromas, Ghostmane Stalkers, glob drops, and dust bunnies can be found on the mission. Finally, there are a number of new mechanics like invisible blocks, platforms, and secret paths (everybody loves secrets).

All of these things are meant to fit with the theme that the city is an illusion, a carefully constructed trap meant to lure knights to their doom. Their desire to return home made them ignore the danger they saw in the corners of their eyes. If you don't keep your eyes open, you won't see the danger before it gets you too.

questions

1. why would there be only 1 type of grimlens in the city
2. if knights stopped living there, why would there even be a signal there now anyway
3. why couldn't someone just use the minimap to find their way?

besides that, sadly, I don't think OOO will ever add any new expansion missions :(

Because it is beast/slime themed. The gremlins are only there because they do neutral damage and they're another type of stealth enemy.

You're probably right. Which is disappointing, I recently did another playthrough of OCH and it is such good fun content.

el questions and el +uno

I like this to a degree but I have a few questions:
1. Why are there ghostmane stalkers? did the crimson order discover the town? If yes then why would they chose to kill/capture the knights who quit instead of trying to enlist them into the crimson order or simply leaving them alone? I ask this because the CO seems like a smart organisation so wouldn't they know that it is best to not make enemies if allies is not an option and attacking a large number of neutral knights is not the best move.
2. What version of blind are we using? I know Utrex also made a thread on it and his was slightly different then mine so I just want to get a clear idea of what blind we are talking about here. You should alter the OP and add a link to the one you are talking about.

Vision radius reduction, not screen blur. Screen blur is just annoying, vision radius reduction is a serious hazard. Although I suppose screen blur would combo better with stealth mechanics, I think that vision radius reduction is mechanically more interesting.

As for why there are Ghostmane Stalkers, A) they're another stealthing monster, and B) perhaps the city was a Gremlin trap all along to weaken the Spiral Order, lull the knights into a sense of complacency, etc. Very few Knights have ever shown interest in joining the enemy, however plenty of them seem like they're losing faith in the mission, so I think that angle would be more interesting to play up.

Why would SHQ even keep contact with these refugees? You said that contact with them was lost.

People nitpicking the specific scenario... the idea is it is a lost city reminiscent of the SK home world that's blind themed. The details aren't that important.

ideas yo

If it was a trap how would the CO know what the SK towns looked like?
I think it would be better if we made "spectral stalkers". They are just ghostmane stalkers with a more clear appearance and a dust cloud constantly around them like an aura. This way we could claim they are manifestations of illusion produced by the town. They could be like graveyard phantoms but for this level!
