Incompetence in Danger Mission parties

I've been lucking into some truly RAAAAGE-worthy parties on Elite Danger Mission runs recently, to the point where I can only assume that a bunch of people out there don't know what either "Elite" or "Danger" actually mean. You've probably had it happen at some point: you start things off, probably without a full party, and you quickly realize that your teammates are amazingly death-prone. You wind up having to revive more than you normally would, because that usually tends to happen with a weak party. So you've made it a decent chunk of the way through the first level, probably to some sort of battle room, and the resident danger-prone Daphne dies yet one more time...and then apparently decides enough is enough and leaves without saying a single word. If there was more than one of them, odds are great that the other one leaves now too, which leaves you up crap creek without a paddle unless you're able to solo the level. Oh, and you've already used a few Sparks of Life, so you're coming out way behind on this run.

I swear, there's nothing in this game that makes me want the ability to punch people through the Internet more than this.

After experience a few like-quality parties:

I now have a policy on reviving. I only revive players if:

They prove they are not completely overwhelmed by the difficulty of the stage.

They have revved themselves at least once.

They do not ask me; or if they do they ask me nicely.

You should tackle any difficult level with at least five sparks in your possession. I dont care if its sad or if lag or if you ran out or dont have money to buy them. Im not making time to rev you if you will not make the time to prepare yourself.

People these days.

They just put on elite to get the rewards, regardless whether they can do it or not. Advance still gives a chance to get the same rewards, just at a lower chance. How much lower, that has yet to be proven.

Incompetence? You mean back

Incompetence? You mean back in June a guy using the Polaris and Voltedge decided to crash (and ruin) the party I was in during Ghosts in the Machine? NOTHING is more incompetent than that. And that was back when we had Mist n' stuff.

...

@OP: I've actually grown myself to the point that I could play while I carry some newbies after some similar bitter experiences. At some time, I practiced those missions solo for once at least. Once I am able to solo the whole mission, I decided to never solo again because I am sick of being alone. I do however, being cheap about my own spark of lifes. I only give them revives when I see it's appropriate.

Volt edge is fine at ghosts in the machines, just like combuster at FSC. At least no quicksilvers at that danger mission. Polaris, however, let's throw that weapon at clockworks dumpsters >:

Hey now, Polaris is great to use on the turrets that are on the other side of shock floors. It's the ones using it as a main weapon that are annoying.

@Flowchart

I'd rather use something that deals LEGIT DAMAGE AND DEBUFFS to turrets. Or just any monsters in general. Polaris damage is good, but I hate how (most) people use it in wrong situations.

But shocking quicksilvers is BENEFICIAL! Sure, they heal themselves, but they murder everything else! You can clear an arena quick just by shocking 3 or 4 quicksilvers.

@Batabii

Not sure if being seerus (as I have seen QS's kill things in the ironclaw factory), or just trolling.

No, I'm serious. I mean yeah you have to be careful to stay out of their way, but they do more damage to other mobs than a trojan could ever do in twice the time. Hell, in IMF, if you lock them on the shock tiles with a gate, you can watch them kill each other :D

Yeah, charged-up Quicksilvers

Yeah, charged-up Quicksilvers usually wind up doing far more damage to their fellow baddies than they ever do to you.

And I wasn't really implying in the OP that I was the one reviving these players myself...I might do the odd pity revive, but I'm sure as hell not repeating it. No, these people fire off four or five revives of their own in quick succession, and then apparently decide they've hit some sort of counter limit and LOLNOPE their way out of the party.

That reminds me, it wouldn't bother me so much when people left if they didn't just disappear without even a word. It seems very rude to vanish mid-run for seemingly no reason...

That and people who say "I don't have time" when they only played one or two floors. Why start what you can't finish? If you knew you had an appointment or somewhere to be, you shouldn't have started SK if you have to quit in 15 minutes anyway...

Here's an even better one

So I was in the second level of Ghosts in the Machine with two random people tonight, we already have the right-hand key, and things are going pretty well. Then in the middle of the left-side arena, without any warning or prompting or anything...I'm dumped from the party. Just like that. For no reason at all. And I wind up having to spend a good 2 or 3 Sparks on revives I probably wouldn't have needed if the whole group had finished the run together.

...I swear, I'm feeling a rather visceral hatred towards humanity as a whole at the moment.

And now that item drops for other people aren't shown, there's no way to remember who was in your party unless they say something!

I'll run missions with you, by the way. Always looking for decent knights to play with.

They are leechers. They know it's hard but they think someone else will carry them and they'll get extra loot.

Free elevators made them flourish since now they can just start a new run after you kicK them and bump onto someone else.

Except it didn't, because now they can't just sit there dead while everyone else picks up loot for them.

Even moar fun!

Well at least this one was much more amusing than rage-inducing. I jumped on a Normal Compound 42 run earlier, because I usually don't see too many parties running that mission (hmm, wonder why), and the Prestige is the same no matter the difficulty. The other person in the party was wearing an Ash Tail set and rocking a Calibur/Blaster line combo, which would normally be cause for concern, but again, it's Normal difficulty. So we start off, and things are going okay, but then the other person starts inviting in a few friends, including one wearing (I kid you not) Dusker armor. Each of these people lasts no more than 5 minutes before they realize they're waaaay out of their league and NOPE out of there. Eventually the person I started with just didn't revive for a while, so I wound up soloing the entire final battle room by myself. It would have been an absolute nightmare on any higher difficulty, but other than one stupid death that required a Spark usage earlier on, it was fairly stress-free, so I just laughed by the end of it.

C'mon, someone else has to have some decent stories of Danger Missions or Shadow Lairs or other difficult runs gone horribly wrong. Let's spread some schadenfreude!
