Okay, so I used to be a Gunner. As a result, I've got Blitz Needle, Umbra Driver, Storm Driver, Sentenza and Polaris. I also recently became a Bomber, so I've got Ash of Agni, Voltaic Tempest, Shivermist Buster, Venom Veiler, Graviton Vortex and Dark Briar Barrage. My armor is usually the Volcanic Demo Set.

The question is, what next? I recently managed to amass 3 Elite Orbs of Alchemy and I've got way too many Eternal Orbs. But I don't know what I should get next. I don't wanna become a Swordie at this juncture. I've got a Magnus and a Super Blaster. Should I go for Callahan or Valiance? I'm leaning toward Scintillating Sun Shard and Shocking Salt Bomb as well. But I'm not sure I want bombs that do knock back.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Too much weapon talking. What about armor? Don't you want Mercurial Demo? Chaos set? Trinkets?

Yes, try a shard bomb, if only to understand what the fuss is about. Try Nitronome or the other blast bombs. Nitro is just like DBB, but normal and knockbacky.

Catalyzer! Callahan is fun. Valiance is a fine gun, but not very interesting.

Shadowsun? Chaos? Trinkets? Armor is boring, though --- except for Movement Speed Increase.

I've tried Super Blast Bomb

I've tried Super Blast Bomb with the intention of upgrading it to Nitronome, but while heating it to level 5, I felt it wasn't for me. Maybe I'm too use to Haze Bombs where you run away once you drop the bomb, but I'm just not a fan of the knockback or the obstructive animation.

For Vana runs, I have the Volcanic Demo Set for the fire resistance and Shadow resistance perk from my Maskie. My Blitz has UV CTR VH. This means both my Blitz and Shivermist are CTR Max. I don't use trinkets at the moment. Generally speaking, I'm too lazy to change armor. Although I do have a Shadowsun Stetson and Nameless Poncho.

Catalyzer... that's interesting. I might try that. Which one would you recommend? I tend to not look at them because it seems to take too long to set up.

What do you guys think of the Volcanic Pepperbox? I only just realize it does Normal Damage (derp!). I love my Blitz even before I got the UV, but I admit, it's not very effective on levels where the enemy's resistant. How is the V. Pepperbox as far as general usage/utility? How does it compare to the likes of Alchemers?

I like my Magnus well enough, but is the Callahan really that effective against Devilites? I usually use the Blitz' wide spread to get around the Devilite dodging.

Thanks for your opinions so far!

Edit: I'm reading up on V. Pep, I'm thinking I might try to team it with a bomb. Any suggestions? Venom Veiler perhaps? To offset the Normal attack type of Pepperbox? As far as Vana runs are concerned, I already have a set I'm satisfied with, so I wouldn't need Pep for that.

Considering it's a slow weapon, you might want something that slow downs or traps enemies instead.

Stagger storm, vortex, shivermist.

Hmm

I can only comment on the Catalyzer as that is one of the things I have the most experience with. The differences between the two is more than you would think. The Neutralizer has a higher damage output while being able to hurt everything (great for slags). The Biohazard on the other hand deals shadow and causes poison at the cost of damage output. Really the only time Biohazard comes out on top is if you are facing gremlins or slimes, even then Neutralizer could do around the same damage.

Catalyzers may seem weird at first but after awhile I found them to be one of the most fun things to play with. Pairing my Biohazard (I prefer poison over damage as I play support) with a vortex bomb is the one of my favourite tactics. Shoot a few cata charges into a group, drop a vortex, then shoot a normal shot and watch as people die or get badly poisoned. It may not be as good as swords to kill but it is a million times more fun.

I recommend callahan. It is just a punishing gun to kill with. Just looks so BA to get a kill in ld with a callahan too.

I think the Golcanic Peppebox would pair well with the vortex bomb. Maybe drop a VV, lay down an EV, and charge up yo VP.

Or be one of those lame unimaginative people, qnd get chaos and a combuster.

Me votes for tge former option.

@Little-Juances Thanks, that

@Little-Juances
Thanks, that makes sense. I just like to inflict enemies with statuses though. I know I shouldn't depend on the VP's Fire status, but again, I like inflicting Status. Stagger Storm, Voltaic Tempest and Venom Veiler seem like credible choices. I'm fairly confident of using this gun as I used to use Blitz for everything, even on levels where it's probably one of the worst weapons to bring. But you make a good point.

@Wolfe-Knight
Thanks. I'm intrigued, and I'm currently checking out YouTube vids for examples of their usage. I assume the Charge speed on them is quite fast even without UVs?

@Voza-II
Right now, Callahan, VP and Catalyzer are in the running. As well as a Shard Bomb of some sort.

@Traevelliath
That's an intriguing choice. But I keep reading on comments that it ain't a great weapon? Would it be good as a side arm for a bomber?

Thanks guys, givin' me stuff to think about :)

New question, would Shock or Fire Damage set off the Catalyzer explosion?

Hmm

@Awoogawooga

Even without UVs they charge fast (at lvl 10 I mean) but it is better to have charge upgrades. The only thing that sets of the bombs is a Cata shot (can be from you or someone else, and it does matter what cata it is).

Thanks for the advice guys, I

Thanks for the advice guys, I ended up getting a Rock Salt Shard Bomb-> Ionized Rock Salt Shard Bomb.

Although I have no idea how to use Shard Bombs. Do I stay in one spot? Kite? Encircling enemies seem to work.
