Lore Description (Gravity Grasp): "This strange handgun has the power to defy the law of gravity. Blasting this handgun will emit a strange distortion of gravity that will stop in its tracks."

Lore Description (Frivolity): "An enhanced version of the handgun that defies gravity. Blasting this handgun will emit an extreme distortion of gravity that will stop then explode in its tracks.

The handgun is a dark, ominous-looking handgun with modern-looking technology.

This cool handgun will shoot a projectile. The projectile speed is like a Valiance's.

After the bullet hits an enemy, it will stop in its tracks, but won't disappear. After a short maybe 2 seconds or so, it will then disappear.

So, you shoot with the handgun, the bullet either hits an enemy or something, or doesn't hit anything at all -> it stops -> 2 seconds later *poof!* gone.

You can shoot up to two times.

I highly recommend it deal shadow damage.

If the projectile reaches a wall, or object, it will stop, and, disappear/explode after 2 seconds.

It's initial shot is powerful. When it's stop in its tracks, it deals 3/4 the damage compared to when it moves.

Obtainable through upcoming Tier 3 Token Rewards, rare item, or Basil/HoH. I prefer starting it from 4*, but 5* may work as well.

(FRIVOLITY) Changes/Additions to the 5* version: Frivolity, instead of just disappearing like the 4* Gravity Grasp does, will explode upon disappearing, and if an enemy touches the projectile, an "explosion" effect will take place.

Frivolity will, instead of giving enemies knockback, will "suck in" enemies. This is different than Gravity Grasp as well.

Frivolity will also deal more damage.

Why I made this.

Spiral Knights needs new handguns. No, really. Too many swords, and bombs aren't a popular sport most knights go with.

So, support...

P.S. Glad-Bunny, post on this once it starts to "lose people's attention".

What type of damage does the handgun deal? Shadow? Elemental? What's the description of the weapon? What star?

We got more swords because

We got more swords because most people are sword users.

"I highly recommend it deal shadow damage."
This is your own suggestion. I don't know why you're 'recommending' it to deal shadow.

Name of 4* handgun?

Wait, so it's just a bullet that sits around and does damage to anything that walks through it? Isn't that just a really small, terrible Dark Retribution?

No.

Seeing a stationary projectile that is basically "in player's ways" is different than bullets that move around a moderate radius. Players can dodge DR projectiles while if someone were to run into a stationary GG bullet, they couldn't dodge, and therefore, be dealt with damage.

I have updated the damage of the stationary projectile so it doesn't prove "useless".

Pretend I wrote something clever here

I don't understand what this weapon is supposed to do, and from your description it sounds kinda useless. Wouldn't it be more effective to keep shooting your target rather then leave a little hovering bullet in front of it and hope the bad guy runs into it (and then have him take less damage than if you'd just shot him again)? And does the Frivolity explode or does it suck people in? Because those two effect are somewhat contradictory (the time-delayed explosions also making it sound like a grenade launcher, which is something we definitely don't need). And finally, if the bullet misses and just hits a wall, then explodes 2 seconds later, what good will it do? An alchemer round would fragment and maybe hit something, but this one won't, and the the short time before the bullets detonate wont let you set up a dozen of them and them knock a target into them either (and if you wanted to do that kind of thing, you'd be using a neutralizer anyway).

This sounds pretty similar to a "lag gun" idea that came up a few times some time ago, except it's the inverse. You'd shoot, creating a spawn point for a projectile/a hovering bullet, and after a certain amount of time, it'd fire off in the direction it should have gone.

I don't think it's necessarily a lack of ideas that's keeping new guns and balance patches from coming faster, but a lack of focus on them, or just too few people working on the game in general.

@ Battlegrinder: ... Not even going to answer that.

But I must. You miss with a callahan. You miss again. miss, miss etc. Now, shoot with this. You don't miss, you hit the target with Frivolity, and the enemy or enemies get "sucked in" they get heavily damaged, unless they manage to escape.

Stop posting illogical comments please! :D

I wouldn't call taking 3/4 of the damage of normal shot "heavy damage". That's what I call "less damage then shooting the guy twice". Also, If I can't hit my target with a Callahan, why would I have better luck with this thing? It still has to hit them in order to trigger the suction effect, unless the radius of the effect is so large that it can suck them in after it hits the wall ten feet behind them.
Here's the issue I have with this gun: If you can aim, you're better off using a Alchemer, since that gun rewards accuracy and skill, and if you can't aim, you should use a Sentenza, since that gun doesn't punish you as much for missing. If you want to bunch enemies up, you'd use a graviton vortex. Even if you were able to bait enemies into colliding with the bullets, that time still would have been spent shooting them with the regular shoots. I don't see any skill level or playstyle that would benefit from creating these hovering bullets.
