If an enemy inflicts a double-status, only inflict the secondary status on the Shield's Health.

So after some testing, I realize that the sub-lumber family (Silversap, etc) will instantly break a Shield on Elite no matter what, even an Omega Shell with Freeze Maximum broke against a Silversap, this seems a bit... weird.

The attack will still inflict the same statuses without the Shield up, however, when the Shield up, it'd go from this:

*Normal Damage
*Elemental Damage
*Stun
*Secondary Status (Fire, Freeze, Shock, Poison)

to this:

*Normal Damage
*Elemental Damage
*Secondary Status (Fire, Freeze, Shock, Poison)

A minor change, but this will allow Shields with a Status Resistance to take one-full hit with about 5% - 20% of the Shield's Health remaining.

I get the impression that lumbers are just intended to be so powerful that you can't shield against them and have to rely on dodging. A lot of games with shielding mechanics and large enemies act like this.

Silversaps are really punishing in this regard, but it's possible to be immune to both of their statuses.

Well that's because you're only really defending against 2 out of the 4 damage types that the silversap is dishing out, and not very well at that either. Omega Shell is an all-round shield, not a melee shield. Come back when you've tried a APS/VPS/IPS or Heater shield with or without appropriate UVs, or have a Stun or Elemental UV on that Omega.
If you really hate Silversaps, carry a Elemental Max, Freeze Max APS or Elemental Max, Stun Max Heater shield. A Freeze Max, Stun Max, Elemental Max Omega would probably be even better, but would obviously be far more expensive.

If you think Lumbers are hard and are crying for a nerf, what do you think Tortodrones will be? Do you want every mob to be a walk in the park? Do you want to nerf Vanaduke next, make it so his mace attack only tickles?
