I have always been in a doubt when saying Seerus, Bosco, or Izola. How do you guys pronounce those and other names?

I don't see why people can't

I don't see why people can't pronounce worth crap. These names are really easy. Seer-us. Boss-co. Is-o-la

The only name I find hard in this game are things like Bootshuze. Like is it supposed to sound Bootshooz or Bootshuzay. Maybe Bootshuzee

Yeah most of the NPC names are puns or homages anyway. I don't see how any of them are hard to pronounce.

Pretend I wrote something clever here

I had a thread like this a while ago, but only about Seerus. IIRC, we decided that it was pronounced "seer-us", at least according to Google translate.

As for the other two, Bosco is pronounced "boss-ko" (Trust me, I live in the south and have meet more than a few people with this name), but I have no idea how to pronounce Izola, but Google says "E-zula".

Secretly, I was hoping for a Capulet too.

Montague has always been Mohn-teh-goo for me.

I really want there to be a spookat named Romeo next to an owlite tomb that, when you interact with it, gives you a poison vial.

Your formats are inconstant and kinda confusing

Here's how you do it:
(Forward slashes represent alternate pronunciations, I've only used IPA for the vowels because I'm fairly sure you can figure out what sounds the consonants make, do note that the "long u" sound is represented by /juː/)

HAVEN

Hailoh = Haɪ/-loʊ / Heɪ-loʊ

Warnell = Wɔr-nɛl / Wɔ-nɛl / wɑ-nɛl

Plinkop = plɪnk-ɒp

Bootshuze = But-shuz

Greave = Griːv

Kragen = Kreɪ-gɛn / Krɑ-gɛn

Quillion = Kwɪ-lɪ-ɛn / Kwɪ-lɪ-ɒn

Ricasso = Rɪ-kɑ-soʊ

Vatel = Vɪ-tɛl / Vɑ-tɛl

Basil = Baɪ-sɪl / Bæ-sɪl

Bulky = Bʌl-kiː

Maskwell = Mɑsk-wɛl

Brinks = Brɪnks

Feron = Fɛ-rɒn / Fɛ-rɪn

Barrus = Bæ-rʌs

Morlin = Mɔr-lɪn / Mɔ-lɪn

Biscotti = Bɪs-kɒt-iː

Riley = Raɪ-liː

Kora = Kɔ-rɑ / Koʊ-rɑ

Hahn = Hɑn

Punch = Pʌnch

Vise = Vaɪs

Kozma = Kɒz-mɑ / Koʊz-mɑ

Bosco = Bɒs-koʊ

DEAD STRANGERS

Boost = Bust

Quince = Kwɪns

Rudkin = Rʌd-kɪn

MOORCROFT MANOR

Pembrooke = Pɛm-brʊk

Montague = Mɒn-tɑ-gjuː

Estavio = ɛ-stɑ-vɪ-oʊ / ɛ-steɪ-vɪ-oʊ

Hector = Same as its regular counterpart.

Konjuring Kat = Same as its regular counterpart.

EMBERLIGHT

Gracken = Græ-kɛn / Grɑ-kɛn

OTHERS

Vaelyn = Veɪ-lɪn

Euclid = ᵿ-slɪd

Chicken Parma = Diː-lɪ-shʌs

Grantz = I don't know the symbol for this sound, it's like a longer version of ɛ.

Rulen = Ru-lɛn

Desna = Dɛz-nɑ

Rhendon = Rɛn-dɒn / Rɛn-dɛn

Seerus = Sɪ-rʌs / Siː-rɛs

HALL OF HEROES

Echo = ɛ-koʊ

Daxen = Dæk-sɛn

Remi = Rɛ-miː

Archilus = ɑ-kɪ-lʌs (since it looks Greek there's kinda only one way to pronounce it)

Sylvin = Sɪl-vɪn

Walkon = Wɔl-kɒn / Wæl-kɛn

Zebulon = Zɛ-bjuː-lɒn / Zɛ-bɛ-lɒn

Izola = aɪ-zoʊ-lɑ / aɪ-zɔ-lɑ (or you can pronounce it with an /ɪ/ if you want to be weird and ignore the vowel-consonant-vowel word structure)

Jorin - Jɔ-rɪn

So as you can see there aren't that many different variations of pronunciation, and even the ones that do exist are frequently just influenced by accent. You shouldn't get all worked up over it. Case closed.

@The-Mighty-Potato

Uh, no. It's IPA.

The near-open front unrounded vowel (æ) is a short a (bat)
The open-mid front unrounded vowel (ɛ) is a short e. (bet) The letter "e" also means a similar sound, which I don't understand the difference (there's supposed to be some sort of accent difference)
The near-close near-front unrounded vowel (ɪ) is a short i (bit)
The open back rounded vowel (ɒ) is a short o (bot)
The open-mid back unrounded vowel (ʌ) is a short u (butt)

(eɪ) represents a long a sound (mate)
(iː) represents a long e sound (meet)
(aɪ) represents a long i sound (mite)
(oʊ) represents a long o sound (mote)
(juː) represents a long u sound (mute)

The open back unrounded vowel (ɑ) is the a in father
The open-mid back rounded vowel (ɔ) is a o-ish kind of sound in gore, thought
The close back rounded vowel (u) is a "long" double o (in moon), comparable to a long /u/ except without the /y/ sound (which is represented as a /j/ in IPA)
The near-close near-back rounded vowel (ʊ) is a "sharp" double o (in book)
The near-close central rounded vowel (ᵿ) sounds very similar to a long u except with an e (Euphoria)

There are quite a few other, less common examples, but these are the only ones I used.

You are experiencing a VALIDATION ERROR

:|

Well, look at it for yourself and find out what sound it makes:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-mid_back_rounded_vowel

I'm from Australia, so ɔ sounds like or/ore, and pretty much all words containing that set of letters...
Hmm, a lot of the "o" sounding vowels sound quite similar...

IPA stands for International Phonetic Alphabet
